Job Description

The Brand Strategy team at theSkimm is looking for an enthusiastic Junior Brand Strategist to contribute to their growing media business. This role involves working cross-functionally on pre-sale strategy, RFP responses, and proactive initiatives. The strategist will collaborate with Sales, Creative, and Design to develop innovative marketing solutions, playing an integral role in sponsored marketing programs and custom content pitches. This full-time, hybrid role offers hands-on exposure to high-impact campaigns and opportunities for growth.

  • Assist in the creation, organization, and dissemination of ad hoc sales marketing materials.
  • Ensure all sales materials and strategic documents remain up-to-date and accurate.
  • Serve as a liaison between Creative, Sales, and Design teams.
  • Provide support for members of the Brand Strategy and internal Sales team.

The Opportunity:

The Brand Strategy team at theSkimm is a group of creative and resourceful hustlers who are relentless in their pursuit to grow the number of amazing brands and clients we partner with. We’re seeking an enthusiastic Junior Brand Strategist who is eager to contribute to our growing media business by working cross-functionally on pre-sale strategy, RFP responses, and proactive initiatives.

As a key member of the team, the Junior Brand Strategist will collaborate closely with Sales, Creative, and Design to develop innovative, best-in-class marketing solutions that bring brand stories to life. This role offers hands-on exposure to high-impact campaigns and opportunities to grow and make a visible impact alongside a passionate and driven team. This is a full-time role based in New York, NY, operating in a flexible hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

The team plays an integral role in the development of sponsored marketing programs across theSkimm’s product suite, custom content-focused pitches for our partners, and sales enablement materials. As a Junior Brand Strategist, you will:

  • Assist in the development, ideation, and strategic thinking of best-in-class integrated marketing solutions for theSkimm’s strategic advertising partners.
  • Organize brainstorms, meeting agendas, and manage gathering and organizing information from brainstorm sessions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to brainstorm concepts for a variety of brands in response to proactive and RFP-based client requests.
  • Assist in the creation, organization, and dissemination of ad hoc sales marketing materials (e.g., editorial sponsorship packages, product one-sheets, case studies, insights decks).
  • Ensure all sales materials and strategic documents remain up-to-date and accurate, serving as a resource for Sales and Brand Strategy teams.
  • Serve as a liaison between Creative, Sales, and Design teams to gather information needed for pre-sale efforts.
  • Provide support for members of the Brand Strategy and internal Sales team.

Compensation Range

Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The salary compensation for this role is $65,000 to $75,000. Individual pay within the compensation range for this business unit specific role is determined based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, education and training, as well as business and company performance.
