Job Summary

The Junior Compliance Analyst supports the Market Intelligence (MI) Compliance function by conducting monitoring activities, primarily internal email monitoring for Data Loss Prevention, and contributing to the overall MI Compliance Program. This role involves identifying potential policy violations, documenting findings, escalating issues, and utilizing analytical skills to identify behavioral patterns and trends. The analyst will contribute to continuous improvement and develop expertise in compliance control functions.

Must Have

  • Support compliance operations in email monitoring to protect sensitive company data and ensure employee adherence to relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Perform periodic monitoring and review of compliance requirements to assess for potential violations, escalating potential issues as appropriate.
  • Document the review and results of monitoring evaluations and related due diligence, including findings and dispositions.
  • Assist in managing communications to and from the Compliance general mailbox.
  • Must be proficient in English, read, write, and present.
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.

About the Role:

The Team:

The Compliance team dedicated to the S&P Global Market Intelligence division serves in an advisory role, guiding the organization in designing and executing strategies, making risk–based decisions, and evaluating opportunities while ensuring adherence to S&P Global’s policies and procedures.

The Role:

The successful candidate will provide support to the Market Intelligence (MI) Compliance function by conducting compliance monitoring activities and contributing to the overall MI Compliance Program. A primary focus will be on internal email monitoring in accordance with MI Data Loss Prevention policies and guidelines, ensuring employee adherence, along with other periodic compliance monitoring tasks.

This role requires meticulous monitoring skills, the ability to identify potential policy violations, strong documenting and record-keeping skills, effective time management and proficiency in both verbal and written communication. The candidate will escalate cases promptly for resolution and utilize analytical skills to identify behavioral patterns and trends, enabling the MI Compliance team to address potential breaches and identify areas of additional training.

This role will report directly to the Director of MI Compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Support compliance operations in email monitoring to protect sensitive company data and ensure employee adherence to relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Perform periodic monitoring and review of compliance requirements to assess for potential violations, escalating potential issues as appropriate.
  • Suggest, support and help implement remedial and preventative actions, contributing to continuous improvement across the division.
  • Document the review and results of monitoring evaluations and related due diligence, including findings and dispositions.
  • Assist in managing communications to and from the Compliance general mailbox.
  • Provide additional assistance in monitoring Sanction Compliance escalations when needed.
  • Support special or ad hoc projects as they arise.

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration or a related field is preferred
  • A strong willingness to learn and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well-organized; with the ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Quick learner, ability to understand concepts and apply new knowledge

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
