Job Description

Saxo Bank is seeking a Junior Desktop Support Engineer for their Global team in Amsterdam. This role involves building and installing IT infrastructure, participating in Agile ceremonies, and independently resolving IT issues. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically competent, and eager to learn, with a minimum of two years' experience in complex desktop environments or a recent ICT degree.
Must have:
  • Build and install PCs, telephone systems, wireless networks and peripheral devices.
  • Conduct Agile ceremonies as per department guidelines.
  • Work independently on technical tasks for desktop support.
  • Identify Risks and proactively seek to mitigate or minimize.
  • Clearly explain facts, practices, policies, challenges within scope of current tasks.
  • Identify automation opportunities and self-service tasks.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supporting complex desktop environments or recent ICT degree.
  • Fluent in English.
Good to have:
  • Experience with an ITIL driven ticketing systems / ServiceNOW.
  • Experience in an international company (financial industry).

To strengthen our Desktop Support team, we are looking for a Junior Desktop Support Engineer to join our Global team based in Amsterdam.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly customer-focused and enthusiastic Desktop Support Engineer with a genuine interest in solving IT issues.

The successful candidate should be technically competent, possess good communication skills, be ready to learn, & thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Your Duties:

  • Build and install PCs, telephone systems, wireless networks and peripheral devices (such as printers, scanners, mobile/smart phones) related to desktop infrastructure, in accordance with department standards.
  • Agile ceremonies are conducted as per department guidelines.
  • Work independently on technical tasks for desktop support complying to relevant best practices.
  • Identify Risks and proactively seek to mitigate or minimize, and if not possible, expose, escalate, and communicate them in due time
  • Clearly explain facts, practices, policies, challenges within scope of current tasks to members of team.
  • Identify automation opportunities, and self-service t asks for all standard requests, thereby increasing throughput and time to deliver.

Your Profile:

  • MS 365
  • MS Teams
  • Windows 11
  • Able to support application and OS installations
  • Good understanding of end user hardware
  • Basic networking skills
  • Experience with an ITIL driven ticketing systems / ServiceNOW preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supporting complex desktop environments or you have completed your ICT degree recently
  • Experience in an international company (financial industry would be an asset)
  • Fluent in English
  • Very good communication and people/training skills
  • Team player, keen to learn, highly self-motivated
