Job Description

The Key Account Manager will play a key role in managing the planning, coordination, and execution of sales programs for assigned accounts, ensuring customer specific activities are consistent with and meet the Automotive Unit’s sales, growth, margin, and profit objectives, and developing and optimizing opportunities for growth; supporting Program Management directly.
Must have:
  • Develop annual and three-year strategic sales plans for assigned accounts
  • Achieve sales goals, EBIT objectives and growth objectives on an annual basis
  • Manage and implement sales activities to achieve sales and profit objectives
  • Ensure effective management and resolution of issues related to customer service responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain key industry contacts and trade relations
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients
  • Perform special projects and other duties as required
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with adhesives, sealants or acoustics in the automotive industry preferred

Responsibilities & Opportunities

At Sika, the Key Account Manager will play a key role in:

  • Managing the planning, coordination, and execution of sales programs for assigned accounts
  • Ensuring customer specific activities are consistent with and meet the Automotive Unit’s sales, growth, margin, and profit objectives
  • Developing and optimizing opportunities for growth; supporting Program Management directly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual and three-year strategic sales plans for assigned accounts in accordance with the Automotive Unit’s sales and profit objectives; assist in the development of annual budget and action plans for assigned accounts; recommend and execute agreed-upon sales strategy and marketing plan/programs according to annual budget and three year plan to meet sales, growth, margin and profit objectives.
  • Achieve sales goals, EBIT objectives and growth objectives on an annual basis for assigned accounts based on coordinated and targeted action plans, pricing, and product mix strategies
  • Manage and implement sales activities to achieve sales and profit objectives in assigned accounts
  • Ensure effective management and resolution of issues related to customer service responsibilities, including invoicing, re-bills, debits/credits, customer response effectiveness, etc.; act as a resource in identifying and resolving issues
  • Establish and maintain key industry contacts and trade relations
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients
  • Perform special projects and other duties as required by the Director(s) and VP of Sales

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, preferably in business or engineering field
  • Minimum five years of progressively responsible sales experience in which the candidate must have demonstrated a proven track record in achieving specific goals.
  • Must have proven record of creativity, innovation, sales growth, and significant achievement
  • Familiarity with adhesives, sealants or acoustics in the automotive industry preferred
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent analytical, planning and time management skills, and quantitative skills
