Job Description

Paytm is seeking a Team Lead for its EDC Retail division. The role involves increasing sales of devices to merchants within a designated area, requiring physical outreach to identify and onboard quality merchants. Key responsibilities include minimizing fraud and chargebacks, adhering to risk guidelines, resolving high-risk merchant issues, and seeking merchant references. The position also involves collaborating with internal business and technology teams to address bottlenecks, particularly on the technology front. The ideal candidate will act as a brand ambassador for Paytm, embodying its core values. A bachelor's degree or higher is required.
Must have:
  • Increase device sales among merchants.
  • Identify and sell to quality merchants.
  • Minimize fraud and chargebacks.
  • Adhere to risk guidelines.
  • Resolve high-risk merchant issues.
  • Seek merchant references.
  • Engage with internal teams.
  • Act as a brand ambassador.
Good to have:
  • B2B field sales experience.
  • Cold calling, pre-sales, lead generation.
  • Understanding of technology and user experience.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Sales and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to experiment and improve.

About the team: EDC Retail – EDC is one of Paytm‘s business tool to help merchant grow and manage their business through simplicity and data driven technology.

Expectations/ Requirements
● The incumbent will be expected to increase sales of our devices amongst merchants in a specified area.
● The role will require physical movement into micro markets, identifying and selling to good quality  merchants.
● Minimize risks of fraud, chargebacks by ensuring good quality of merchant onboarding  
● Adhere to the risk guidelines shared by the team. Visit merchant and resolve issues highlighted as high risk.  
● Seek references of other good merchants from the converted clients
● Engage with various Business & Technology Teams within Paytm to identify common bottlenecks esp. on  Technology front.
● Be a brand ambassador for Paytm – Stay Hungry, Stay Humble, Stay Relevant!

Superpowers/ Skills that will help you succeed in this role  
● Identify and meet potential clients by growing, maintaining and leveraging your network.
● Should have good exposure in B2B field sales, cold calling, pre-sales and lead generation
● Understanding of Technology and User Experience  
● Should possess good communication, sales and negotiation skills
● Willingness to experiment and improve continuously

 Education: Applicants must possess bachelor’s degree or above.
