Must Have:
  • Drive lab systems engineering for quality, compliance, and throughput.
  • Monitor, record, and report lab equipment maintenance, service, calibration, and testing.
  • Develop test plans for new features and automate scripting for testing.
  • Execute lab activities, including engineering analysis and data reporting.
  • Resolve reported bugs and root cause product quality issues.
  • Develop plans, procure equipment, and build lab infrastructure.
  • Ensure lab preparedness with bench set-up and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with IT, security, and facilities for lab maintenance.
  • Design and implement new ideas, processes, and systems for lab improvements.
  • Develop/modify equipment using Remote Board Farm (RBF) tools and troubleshoot platforms.
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical-Electronics, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 1-2 years programming experience in two or more languages like C, C++, Python, Java, C#, Perl, SQL.
  • Proficiency in Python programming.
  • Strong understanding of operating systems and computer architecture (Windows, Android, Linux, x86).

In this Lab Engineer position, you will join Edge Computing Group Software Validation & Engineering (ECG SVE) team where you will drive lab systems engineering including the development of solutions to improve lab quality, compliance, and throughput. In addition, you will be responsible to drive monitoring, record keeping and reporting for lab equipment including maintenance, service, calibration and testing activities.

This is a technical and individual contributor role. In this position, you will:

  • Drive lab systems engineering includes the development of solutions to improve lab quality, compliance, and throughput. Drives monitoring, record keeping, and reporting for lab equipment including maintenance, service, calibration, and testing activities. Create and develop test plans for new features on each product and recommend improvements to enable automated scripting for testing and archiving of results.
  • Drive lab execution includes engineering analysis, instrumentation, data analysis, and result reporting.
  • Resolve reported bugs and root causes issues that could impact product quality and experience.
  • Develop plans and cost estimates based on requirements and assess projects to analyze risks and rewards, drive procurement of equipment and other lab materials, and development of lab infrastructure.
  • Ensure lab preparedness including bench set-up, procurement of test equipment and other lab materials, and infrastructure requirements.
  • Collaborate with functional teams such as IT, security, and facilities to maintain a successful lab.
  • Develop and coordinate the design, development, and implementation of new ideas, processes, and systems for lab improvements needed to meet program deliverables.
  • Develop/modify existing equipment using Remote Board Farm (RBF) tools/capabilities, platform troubleshooting and triage. Work closely with other developers, UX designers, business, and systems analysts. Able to demonstrate capabilities or Proof-of-Concept (POC) software solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 1 to 2 years of experiences in programming in two or more languages like C, C++, Python, Java, C#, Perl, SQL etc.
  • Python programming knowledge is a must-have.
  • Experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) development and validation is an added value.

Other requirements

  • Good understanding of operating systems and computer architecture, such as Windows, Android, Linux, x86 Architecture and system-level knowledge.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse team environment and with others in cross-site organizations.
