Job Description

This Labourer position at Sika in Brantford, Ontario, involves working full-time in a production environment. Key responsibilities include operating a hand-add station, bagging and stacking cement-based products, and safely operating a forklift for material storage. The role requires adherence to safety policies, maintaining workstation cleanliness, and adapting to indoor/outdoor conditions, including dusty and loud environments with chemical handling. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, 1-2 years of industrial manufacturing experience, and possess self-motivation, communication, time management, and independent work skills. Overtime and both day/night shifts may be required.
Must have:
  • Operate hand-add station using digital scale for quality control.
  • Bag cement-based product according to production standards.
  • Manually stack product on pallets/production lines.
  • Safely operate forklift for material storage.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies (PPE, lock-out, confined space, safe lifting practices).
  • Report unsafe working conditions, accidents, incidents, and near misses immediately.
  • Maintain general cleanliness of workstation and plant housekeeping.
  • Adapt to fluctuations in temperature and weather conditions (indoors and outdoors).
  • Wear hearing protection in loud environments.
  • Handle various chemicals (e.g., cementitious materials) with proper respirator use.
  • Perform substantial repetitive physical effort, with ability to lift up to 30kg.
  • Work safely with or around moving machinery/equipment.
  • Work both day and night shifts as required.
  • Be available for overtime.
  • Work on a production line in various capacities (hand-add, bagging/stacking, packaging/storage).
  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Have 1-2 years minimum of previous industrial manufacturing experience.
  • Be self-motivated to perform according to standard.
  • Communicate with management and team leader to meet production goals.
  • Demonstrate time management to maintain required production levels.
  • Perform tasks independently.

  • Hand-add station – use of a digital scale for purposes of measuring material to ensure quality standards are met
  • Bagging of cement-based product according to production and quality standards
  • Manual stacking of product on pallet/production lines
  • Safe operation of forklift for purposes of storing material
  • Work safely at all times, adhering to all company safety policies (PPE, lock-out, confined space, safe lifting practices, etc.)
  • Report any unsafe working conditions, all safety accidents, incidents, and near misses immediately to management
  • General cleanliness of workstation/plant housekeeping to applicable standards
  • Additional duties as assigned
  • Work performed both indoors and outdoors – adaptation required to fluctuations in temperature and weather conditions
  • Dusty and dirty environment
  • Uniform provided
  • Hearing protection required due to loud environment
  • Handling of various chemicals (i.e. cementitious materials), proper respirator fit and wear required
  • Substantial repetitive physical effort required – ability to lift up to 30kg
  • Safely working with or around moving machinery/equipment
  • Both day and night shifts required

  • Working on a production line in one of several capacities including hand-add station, bagging/stacking product, and packaging/storage of product as required. General line/plant housekeeping is also required on a regular basis.
