Lead Software Engineer - ReactJS & Microservices

This Lead Software Engineer role involves architecting and designing a cloud-native SaaS product in Order Management and Micro-fulfillment using Azure. The role requires building high-quality, scalable, and reusable code, driving simpler and more robust architectures, and ensuring reliable services. The incumbent will also mentor junior and mid-level associates, understand detailed requirements, and own the code from design to delivery, focusing on bug-free development and technical challenge mitigation.

Must Have

• Architecting and designing cloud-native SaaS products (Order management, micro-fulfillment)
• Strong programming experience in React JS, Micro-frontend, Design Patterns, Data structures, REST APIs
• Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in Software development
• Experience with Node JS, GitHub, Mongo Atlas, Azure, Nest JS
• Knowledge of scalable, resilient, event-driven, secure multi-tenant Microservices architecture
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Elasticsearch, NoSQL, RDBMS
• Ability to build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code
• Experience in Unit tests and Frontend Unit testing libraries
• Experience working in agile test-driven development with continuous integration
• Deep understanding of JavaScript patterns and maintainable JavaScript applications
• Ability to design RESTful services and integrate with data providers
• Working knowledge of databases like Mongo, Cosmos, SnowFlake
• Experience using Git for complex software systems

Scope:

• Core responsibilities to include Architecting and designing (along with counterparts and distinguished Architects) a ground up cloud native (we use Azure) SaaS product in Order management and micro-fulfillment
• The team currently comprises of 60+ global associates across US, India (COE) and UK and is expected to grow rapidly. The incumbent will need to have leadership qualities to also mentor junior and mid-level software associates in our team

Our current technical environment:

• Software: Node JS, GitHub, Mongo Atlas, Azure, Nest JS
• Application Architecture: Scalable, Resilient, event driven, secure multi-tenant Microservices architecture, Micro-frontend.
• Cloud Architecture: MS Azure (AKS, HD insight, Application gateway, Virtual Networks, Event Hub, Azure AD, ARM templates), Azure Functions, Logic Apps
• Frameworks/Others: Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Elasticsearch, NoSQL, RDBMS

What you’ll do:

• Build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)
• Drive architecture and designs to become simpler, more robust, and more efficient.
• Write and review service descriptions including relevant measures of service quality and drives architecture to deliver on these promises through self-healing, reliable services that require minimum manual intervention.
• Work with the team to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation and deliver high-quality product.
• Develop high quality bug free code following design patterns, oops concepts.
• Provide early visibility and mitigation to technical challenges through the journey.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree (STEM preferred) and minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in Software development; ideally a candidate that has started as a Software Engineer and progressed to Lead Software Engineer within the last 3-4 years minimum
• Strong programming experience and background in React JS, Micro-frontend, Design Patterns, Data structures, REST APIS.
• Knowledge, and interests in Cloud native architecture, Distributed micro-services, Multi-tenant SaaS solution and Cloud Scalability, performance, and High availability.
• Knowledge on CI/CD pipelines, Github workflows etc.
• Knowledge on devOps flows – Build – deploy – operate.
• Hands-on design, coding & development
• Experience in Unit tests.
• Experience in Any Frontend Unit testing library.
• Experience working in an agile test-driven development with continuous integration.
• Good understanding of OO JavaScript and at least one (preferably React) Front-end framework.
• Deep understanding of JavaScript patterns and the challenges involved with creating maintainable JavaScript applications.
• Knowledge about APIs. Can design RESTful services and integrate with other data providers. Demonstrable experience designing, building, deploying and maintenance of enterprise cloud solutions in any of AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Working knowledge of databases Mongo, Cosmos, SnowFlake etc.
• Ability to write and review code as needed and provide technical direction to the group in all phases of development.
• Understanding of technical architectures, capacity plans, tool requirements, automation plans, product launch plans, and other deliverables

• Experience using Git for complex software systems with teams.
