Job Summary

Springer Nature Group is seeking a Legal Intern to support the legal department of a multinational publishing company. The intern will gain knowledge of the publishing market, company procedures, and legal processes related to corporate law, compliance, contract drafting, and intellectual property. This temporary role, starting January 2026, is hybrid in Madrid and focuses on supporting the 2026 campaign, contracts, and systems.

Must Have

  • Support in the implementation of local and global compliance policies and risk control tools.
  • Assist in drafting contracts with clients and participate in negotiation processes and contractual management.
  • Support in drafting publishing and editorial service contracts.
  • Support the procurement and general services team.
  • Learn to use legal databases: Service Management systems and Document Management Systems.
  • Support internal client interaction (commercial-sales team/editorial-authors team).

Good to Have

  • Double degree in Business Administration and Management (ADE) and international contracting.
  • Interest in intellectual property law.

About the Position:

Are you a final-year Law student or pursuing a Master's degree? Would you like to support the legal area of a multinational company in the publishing sector?

We are looking for an intern to temporarily support the 2026 campaign, contracts, and systems. With the opportunity to also learn about international and complex contract flows.

Main Responsibilities:

Introduce the student to the knowledge of the publishing market, the company, its competencies, its business, and its procedures (stakeholders), as well as the company's legal processes related to the following matters:

  • Corporate law.
  • Local and global compliance system: support in the implementation of policies and risk control tools.
  • Assistance in drafting contracts with clients and participation in negotiation processes and contractual management of the company.
  • Support in drafting publishing and editorial service contracts.
  • Support for the procurement and general services team.
  • Learn to use legal databases: Service Management systems and Document Management Systems.
  • Support with internal client interaction (commercial-sales team/editorial-authors team).
  • Legal disciplines: civil law, commercial law, intellectual property, personal data protection, private international law, administrative law.

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • University studies in law and valuable double degree in Business Administration and Management (ADE), international contracting.
  • B2+ level of English, both oral and written.
  • Advanced Excel.
  • Computer skills.
  • Interest in intellectual property law.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Team player and good attitude.
