As a Level Design Team Lead at Playtika, you'll spearhead the creation and management of exciting and engaging puzzle levels for Best Fiends, a popular match-3 puzzle mobile game. You'll lead a team of level designers, fostering a collaborative and learning environment, ensuring high-quality level design that keeps players entertained and coming back for more. Responsibilities include strategizing and implementing level design vision, balancing and tuning levels, reviewing and improving level performance, and staying abreast of industry trends. You'll work closely with level QA to ensure a top-notch player experience.
Must have:
  • Passion for mobile casual games, especially match-3
  • 2-3 years experience in game design, specifically match-3 games
  • 2-3 years experience managing teams in game design, product, or analytics
  • Knowledge of game balancing and pacing
  • Deep understanding of level design concepts
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Independent and proactive
  • Team player

We are looking for a Level Design Team Leader to join and lead our Level Design Team. As a Level Design Team Lead, you’ll lead the level design team with main focus on creating and managing the heart of the game experience - thrilling, fun, well-balanced and interesting casual puzzle levels, that keep players coming back for more!

Responsibilities:

  • Love playing games, and Best Fiends in particular, on daily basis and make sure you enjoy but also obsessively challenge Best Fiends game from all aspects   
  • Manage, control, monitor and optimize the team’s level creation for Best Fiends – A match-3 puzzle mobile game
  • Directly manage a team of ninja level designers, mentor, tutor and train them through a positive, learning and significant experience
  • Lead the strategical vision of level design team as well as creating and designing it tactical in practice, hands-on
  • Implement and follow a methodology, hands-on for creating, assessing, re-balancing, review and tune new and existing levels to improve levels’ performance KPIs
  • Challenge current level design creation guidelines, set their success indicators, and plan actions for yourself as well as level designers to continually improving them
  • Establish and represent creative & productive projects surrounding level creation and new mechanics
  • Remain up-to-date with Level Design best practices and be on top of industry trends
  • Work closely with level QA, constantly improving level quality
  • Ensure that our game is fun to play!

Requirements:

  • Be passionate for any type of games, with advantage to mobile casual games
  • 2-3 years experience in game design, and a known and successful match-3 game
  • 2-3 years experience in managing teams in game design \ product \ Analytics domains
  • Knowledge of game balancing and pacing
  • Deep understanding of level design concepts and ideas
  • Great attention to details
  • Be independent and proactive
  • Team player
