The Role
We are seeking an inspirational and strategic Lifestyle Director to lead the growth and development of House & Garden’s premium lifestyle content. This senior leadership role will oversee all aspects of lifestyle editorial coverage, including food, travel, way of life features and bespoke events. You will shape the brand’s voice, elevate storytelling, and build strategic partnerships to position House & Garden as the ultimate authority in sophisticated living.
What will you be doing?
- Develop and implement a bold, innovative lifestyle content strategy across print, digital, social, and events that resonates with our discerning audience.
- Lead and inspire a talented editorial team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and high standards of quality.
- Oversee the commissioning, editing, and publication of high-impact features and special issues, ensuring alignment with brand identity and audience interests.
- Cultivate relationships with leading designers, garden specialists, culinary experts, travel partners, and luxury brands to secure exclusive content and collaborations.
- Curate and produce premium digital content, including articles, videos, and social media campaigns that drive engagement and audience growth.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to develop integrated brand partnerships, sponsored content, and bespoke activations that enhance the lifestyle offering.
- Organise and oversee flagship events, awards, and industry panels that position House & Garden as a thought leader in the luxury lifestyle space.
- Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively, ensuring all projects meet high standards and deadlines.
- Act as a brand ambassador, representing House & Garden at industry events, client meetings, and high-profile occasions.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging content opportunities to keep the brand at the forefront of the luxury lifestyle sector.
- Lead initiatives to enhance audience engagement, digital innovation, and the development of new content formats.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, promoting a positive, inclusive, and dynamic working environment.
About You:
- A seasoned editorial professional with extensive experience leading lifestyle content, ideally within a premium magazine, newspaper, digital platform, or luxury brand.
- Passionate about high-end interiors, outdoor living, culinary arts, travel, and lifestyle trends.
- An exceptional storyteller with a keen eye for detail and a flair for creating compelling narratives.
- Skilled at building and maintaining relationships with high-net-worth individuals, brands, and industry leaders.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organisational and leadership skills.
- A confident public speaker and representative, comfortable hosting events and engaging with industry stakeholders.
- Innovative and forward-thinking, always seeking new ways to grow and elevate the brand.
- Digital-savvy, with expertise in social media, content marketing, SEO, and multimedia storytelling.
- A collaborative team player, committed to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
