Job Summary
The Lightning Artist will be responsible for creating and tuning lighting for game environments, cutscenes, and daily cycles, optimizing performance and visual quality. They will collaborate with the Head of Art to define mood and style, develop new lighting techniques, and work closely with technical artists and level designers to achieve balanced visual and functional results.
Must Have
- Create and tune lighting for game environments, cutscenes, and daily cycles
- Work with real-time lighting, optimize performance and visual quality
- Collaborate with Head of Art on defining mood and style of locations
- Develop and test new lighting techniques for realism and atmosphere
- Cooperate with technical artists and level designers for visual and functional results
- Strong artistic sense for composition, color, light, and atmosphere
- Experience with lighting pipeline in a game environment
- Good knowledge of PBR workflow and real-time rendering technical limits
- Portfolio showing ability to work with light and scene emotion
- Team approach, willingness to learn, and attention to detail
Good to Have
- Experience with lighting for AAA projects
- Knowledge of scripting (e.g., Python, Blueprints) for automating lighting setups
