Job Description
LiveOps Designer (World of Tanks, PC)
Job Overview
We are looking for a LiveOps Designer to help shape and operate engaging, data-driven live experiences for our players. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and running in-game events, promotions, and live content that drive player engagement, retention, and monetization across the lifecycle of a live game.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Game Design, Production, Engineering, Analytics, UI/UX, and Community to plan, execute, and optimize live operations. The ideal candidate combines strong game design fundamentals with analytical thinking, a deep understanding of player behavior, and a passion for building compelling live-service experiences that evolve over time.
What will you do?
- Design, schedule and manage live-game content such as special events, promotions and other in-game activities aimed at engagement, retention, and monetization.
- Collaborate across disciplines (engineers, producers/managers, data analysts, engineers, UI/UX, community/support) to implement live-ops content and ensure smooth execution.
- Define live-ops strategy guided by player behavior data, KPIs, and business goals; propose improvements and iterate based on analytics and feedback.
- Craft and maintain documentation for your designs, wireframes/flows and configurations.
- Support live operations post-launch: monitor player feedback, run A/B tests or live experiments to optimize events, offers, retention and monetization.
What are we looking for?
- 2+ years of experience in Live Ops, Game Design or Economy/System design — preferably in a live-service / free-to-play / multiplayer / games-as-a-service (GaaS) environment.
- Deep understanding of player engagement loops, progression, retention, and monetization mechanics common in live games.
- Strong data literacy: comfort analyzing metrics (e.g. KPIs, economy flows, retention/engagement data), drawing insights, and using them to drive design decisions.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills — the ability to work cross-functionally with multiple disciplines (design, production, analytics, engineering, community/support).
- Ability to write clear, structured documentation, design specs, content flows, and communicate design ideas effectively.
What additional skills will help you stand out?
- Passion for games, strong sense for player psychology, monetization strategies, market trends, and what makes a live game experience engaging over time.
- Familiarity with analytics tools, telemetry platforms, configuration systems, A/B testing frameworks, or CRM/segmentation tools.
- Ability to understand technical constraints of game engines, build systems, and deployment pipelines.
