As Market (Local Operating Company) Quality Lead, you will be responsible for line management of Quality Operations, Consumer Complaints, QMS Compliance and Quality Logistics & Distribution Canada LOC. You will act as Quality Representative for the Canada Country Leadership Team and the North America Quality End-to-End leadership team, leading Quality and Compliance oversight of regulated quality systems and senior management review. This role involves evaluating business continuity risk and product quality, supporting supply chain innovation, and ensuring compliant, efficient LOC quality activities.
Must have:
  • Act as Quality Representative for all QMS related and operational quality activities and issues.
  • Serve as primary contact for Area LOC Quality Lead, member of LOC Leadership Team, and local competent authorities.
  • Act as the ISO13485:2016 Management Representative for the Canada market.
  • Ensure implementation of a robust, sustainable, and effective HALEON CH Quality Management System.
  • Monitor and review performance metrics against targets, presenting to the Leadership Team.
  • Liaise with Country General Manager, Supply Chain, and Regulatory leaders to agree on improvement areas.
  • Establish strong business partnerships with GM and cross-functional leadership team, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders.
  • Actively manage the LOC Quality team, including setting objectives, supporting development, and providing feedback.
  • Ensure timely and effective escalation of quality incidents and provide necessary analysis.
  • Be an active member of the Canada cross-functional leadership team to represent Quality and GMP compliance.
  • Keep commercial teams appraised of quality escalation events and outcomes.
  • Chair LOC Quality council and assist local RMCB, escalating risks as appropriate.
  • Oversee all operational quality activities managed by the team (PPR, batch management, repacking, inbound/outbound issues, recalls, inspection readiness, complaints).
  • Partner with supply chain, Customer Service & Logistics locally to ensure quality excellence in operations.
  • Oversee licensing requirements to maintain license to operate.
  • Provide Quality Leadership for Product Quality Complaints, driving down defects with a consumer-obsessed mindset.
  • Ensure compliance to KPIs and inspection readiness for product quality complaints.
  • Oversee Logistics and Distribution compliance, driving process efficiencies to meet customer needs.

Job Purpose:

As Market (Local Operating Company) Quality Lead, you will be responsible for line management of Quality Operations, Consumer Complaints, QMS Compliance and Quality Logistics & Distribution Canada LOC.

As LOC Quality Lead, your accountabilities include Quality Representative for the Canada Country Leadership Team and the North America Quality End-to-End leadership team. Lead Quality and Compliance oversight of regulated quality systems and senior management review of process performance, trends and themes. This leader is responsible for evaluating and making decisions related to business continuity risk and product quality and compliance situations where marketed product may be affected. In addition, this leader will support supply chain innovation projects into the market and ensure launches are executed on time and in compliance with local regulations and HALEON quality management system. Ensure that LOC quality activities operate in a compliant, fit-for-purpose and efficient manner: improve and facilitate Quality Management and lead the development of a right first time Quality Culture.

This role will provide YOU with the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR Quality career. These responsibilities include some of the following…

  • Quality Representative for all QMS related and operational quality activities and issues, relating to the commercial business. Primary contact for Area LOC Quality Lead, member of LOC Leadership Team and key contact in front of local competent authorities for issues related to quality. Act as the ISO13485:2016 Management Representative for the Canada market responsible for ensuring compliant medical device licensing.
  • Ensure implementation of a robust, sustainable and effective HALEON CH Quality Management System, in line with GxP and any local legal and regulatory requirements at LOC level for all marketed products (medicinal products, medical devices, cosmetics, foods, other).
  • Monitor and review performance metrics against the targets, present to LT and liaise periodically with Country General Manager, Supply Chain and Regulatory leaders to agree improvement areas.
  • Sets up a strong business partnership with GM and cross-functional leadership team, Supply Chain and other key stakeholders.
  • Actively manage the LOC Quality team including setting their yearly objective targets, supporting their development plan and providing regular performance feedback.
  • Ensure timely and effective escalation of quality incidents and provide the necessary analysis to understand and escalate issues which have the potential to impact supply or HALEON’s reputation as a manufacturer of quality products.
  • This role will be an active member of the Canada cross-functional leadership team to bring voice of Quality and GMP compliance. This role is responsible for keeping commercial teams appraised of quality escalation events and outcomes.
  • Chair LOC Quality council and assist to local RMCB, escalate risks as appropriate within organization, that could be raised either by compliance or operation manager for example.
  • Oversight of all the operational quality activities managed by team (PPR, batch management, repacking, inbound and outbound quality issues, recalls, inspection readiness, complaints) and partner with supply chain, Customer Service & Logistics locally to make sure all operations happen with quality excellence.
  • Oversee licensing requirements to maintain license to operate, as applicable
  • Provide Quality Leadership for Product Quality Complaints, employing ‘consumer obsessed’ mindset to drive down complaint defects. Ensure compliance to KPIs and inspection readiness.
  • Oversee Logistics and Distribution compliance driving process efficiencies in a compliant manner to ensure customer needs are met.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • BSc degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Microbiology or another related science
  • 10+ years of Quality experience with OTC drugs, NHPs, Cosmetics, Foods and Medical Devices
  • Knowledge of Canadian regulations (GMP/GDP) and experience in dealing with Health Canada for quality events
  • Demonstrated excellence in inspiring, managing and developing effective teams
  • Proven ability to enable and drive change, and continuous improvement
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills
  • Proven influence and impact skills across levels and functions such as Commercial, Supply Chain, Regulatory and Legal
  • Strong relationship building, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated experience in effective quality decision making and problem solving in a complex environment
  • Self-starter, able to schedule and progress large and complex workload and delegating to team appropriately
