Job Summary

The Fulfilment Interface Data Science team at Grab focuses on predicting and optimizing Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) for food orders and transport bookings. This role involves building sophisticated DNN models for accurate ETA prediction, establishing automated pipelines for model retraining and serving, and creating dashboards to monitor model accuracy and service health. The engineer will also conduct A/B experiments and data analysis in collaboration with product teams.

Must Have

  • Develop innovative Machine Learning or Deep Learning models for ETA prediction and optimization.
  • Establish automated pipelines for model retraining, parameter tuning, and production serving.
  • Build dashboards to monitor model accuracy and service health, tracking performance and identifying data drift.
  • Create technical documents and present solutions to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Product Analytic and Product Manager for A/B experiments and data analysis.
  • Hold a Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Software Engineering.
  • Solid background in at least two of: Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Causal Inference, Operation Research.
  • 1 year of relevant working experience in tech companies or academic institutions.
  • Proficient in Python, Tensorflow/Pytorch, SQL, Spark, and Git.
  • Ability to develop data processing ETL pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Version Control Systems like Git and Git-flow, and the full software development life-cycle.

Get to Know the Team

The Fulfilment Interface Data Science team predicts the estimated time of arrival (ETA) and/or optimise the ETA quotation that balance among the ETA accuracy, system efficiency and marketplace throughput.

Get to Know the Role

We are looking for a Data Scientist to build sophisticated DNN models that predict ETA for Food orders and Transport bookings accurately under uncertainty. You will report to the Head of Data Science and is based onsite in Beijing.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  • You will develop innovative Machine Learning or Deep Learning model that can predict the ETA of the food orders accurately. You will also build Optimisation models to balance the ETA accuracy and system efficiency.
  • You will establish pipelines to automate the model retraining and parameter tuning and serve the model in production.
  • You will build dashboards to monitor the model accuracy and service health. This will involve tracking model performance, identifying data drift issues, and implementing improvements.
  • You will create technical documents outlining the methodologies and findings of your work. You will present solutions and explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • You will collaborate with Product Analytic and Product Manager to conduct A/B experiment and data analysis.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

  • You hold a Bachelor or Master Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Software Engineering.
  • You have solid background in at least two of the following domains: Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Causal Inference and Operation Research.
  • You have 1 years of relevant working experience in tech companies or academic institutions.
  • You are proficient in Python, Tensorflow/Pytorch, SQL, and Spark, git.
  • You can develop data processing ETL pipelines to support data analysis, model training, and model serving tasks.
  • You are familiar with Version Control Systems such as git, git-flow, and understand the full software development life-cycle.
