Machine Shop Helper

The Machine Shop Helper will assist CNC operators with material preparation and loading, and perform post-processing tasks. Key responsibilities include running wide belt sanders, ensuring proper surface finish, and maintaining organized materials and parts on carts. The role requires a basic understanding of shop workflow, efficiency, and a commitment to safety, along with a desire to learn and grow within a manufacturing environment.

Must Have

• Help CNC operators prep and load materials
• Aid in post-processing tasks required for parts
• Ability to run wide belt sanders
• Keep materials and parts well organized and accounted for
• Organize parts on carts after processing
• Maintain machine and ensure adequate surface finish when running parts through wide belt sander
• Maintain a clean workspace
• Aid in tasks to help the flow of the shop and jobs moving through efficiently
• HS graduate or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience working in a shop environment

Position Summary:

Will be helping CNC operators prep and load materials and help aid in any post processing tasks required for the parts to move onto the next process. This position requires the ability to run wide belt sanders and keep materials and parts well organized and accounted for.

Position Responsibilities:

• Must be organized and mindful in order to help organize parts on carts after processing.
• Has basic understanding of shop workflow and efficiency.
• Able to run parts through wide belt sander, maintaining machine and ensuring that the surface finish is adequate before completing and moving onto next step.
• Maintains a clean workspace and helps aid in any tasks required to help the flow of the shop and jobs moving through efficiently.

Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:

• Entry level position, the desire to learn and grow
• Safety oriented

Position Qualifications:

Education:

• HS graduate or equivalent

Experience:

• 1+ years of experience working in a shop environment

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• Manufacturing Environment
• Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
• Requires walking, standing, bending and lifting for long periods of time
