Job Description

Moonbug Entertainment is seeking a Management Accountant to join its growing Finance team in London. This full-time, in-office role focuses on business costs, supporting the company's global entertainment brands like CoComelon and Blippi. The ideal candidate will be flexible, proactive, and adept at improving processes in a fast-paced media environment. Responsibilities include managing journals, intercompany charges, balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting with budgeting and audit processes, requiring strong financial acumen and communication skills.

Good To Have:

Previous experience in the media industry
Experience working with USGAAP
Experience working with US Employee Insurance
Experience working with Netsuite

Must Have:

Create and post regular People related journals for the Candle Group business units
Manage and Maintain employee Group Insurance information systems
Liaise with US Candle Group HR departments for staff Insurance payroll changes
Management of Intercompany cross charges within Candle and supporting business units
Preparation and maintenance of loan accounting across group
Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
Gain a solid understanding of US business transactions and accounting flow
Business partnering with the wider business to accurately account for business costs
Assistance with budgeting and forecasting across various expenditure lines
Involvement in the annual audit process for the Group
Carry out any other duties as required for efficient running of the Finance Department
Several years’ experience working in a dynamic Finance department
Attention to detail and being a completer-finisher with a proactive mindset
Ability to understand the bigger picture and how Finance inputs/outputs affect the business
Able to prioritise with enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and results-oriented environment
Being a team player with strong interpersonal skills
Advanced Excel skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with audit processes
ACCA / CIMA qualified

The Role

Moonbug is seeking a Management Accountant focused business costs to support the growing Finance team. This role is based in our London office in the heart of Camden Town. At Moonbug, you will be working with some of the biggest brands in family entertainment; this is an exciting role and opportunity for someone looking to enter the media industry.

A background in media would help, but more important is the ability to deal with ambiguity, and a truly fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

Create and post regular People related journals for the Candle Group business units
Manage and Maintain employee Group Insurance information systems.
Liaise with US Candle Group HR departments to ensure accuracy of monthly staff Insurance payroll changes, data, and dealing with queries and requests from management.
Management of Intercompany cross charges within Candle and supporting business units
Preparation and maintenance of loan accounting across group
Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
Gain a solid understanding of our US business transactions and accounting flow, whilst identifying and recommending continuous improvement initiatives related to costing processes, championing any new processes which support the departmental and organisational objectives.
Business partnering with the wider business in order to accurately account for our business costs on a monthly basis.
Assistance with budgeting and forecasting across various expenditure lines, as required.
Involvement in the annual audit process for the Group.
To carry out any other duties as required to enable the efficient running of the Finance Department and organisation.

Desired qualifications and requirements

You are keen, flexible with several years’ experience working in a dynamic Finance department
Attention to detail and being a completer-finisher with a proactive mindset
The ability to understand the bigger picture and how inputs and outputs from the Finance team can affect the business
Able to prioritise with enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and results-oriented environment
Being a team player with strong interpersonal skills to contribute to company values and team culture
Advanced Excel skills are required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with audit processes
Previous experience in the media industry is preferred
Experience working with USGAAP would be a bonus
Experience working with US Employee Insurance would be a bonus
Experience working with Netsuite would be a bonus
