Job Description

The GA Associate Accountant at Qualcomm India Private Limited will primarily focus on US GAAP general accounting activities, including balance sheet reconciliation, preparing journal entries, and managing quarterly reporting schedules. Key responsibilities involve month-end closing, general ledger analysis, and supporting external audits to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley control requirements. The role requires 2-5 years of experience in accounting, reconciliation, and analytical research, along with advanced accounting system knowledge and strong communication skills.

  • Perform activities required for month-end closing.
  • Analyze and maintain the general ledger.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliation.
  • Provide ad hoc reports to HQ, local controllership team and other finance functions.
  • Support the local controllership team in external annual audits.
  • Ensure compliance with Internal Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley control requirements.
  • Semi-qualified CA/CMA/CPA or MBA Finance with 2-5 years’ experience.
  • Experience in accounting, reconciliation and analytical research functions.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • Advanced knowledge of Accounting and systems.
  • Strong eye for detail and task oriented.
  • Excellent processing and transactional skills with an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills and effective in working independently.

General Summary:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The focus of the GA Associate Accountant is to work on the Balance sheet reconciliation, Preparation of journal entries and Quarterly reporting schedules.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and perform US GAAP general accounting activities.
  • Prepare and record properly supported standard entries.
  • Perform activities required for month-end closing (preparing and posting journal entries, GL analysis, TB review and variance analysis and other ad-hoc support as required by the business) according to the respective business deadlines
  • Analyze and maintain the general ledger to ensure the accuracy of revenue and cost
  • Perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliation according to Qualcomm Policies
  • Provide ad hoc reports to HQ, local controllership team and other finance functions
  • Support the local controllership team in external annual audits by providing timely and appropriate financial data and supporting documentation in line with the local GAAP requirements and accounting standards
  • Ensure that all processes and policies are compliant with Internal Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley control requirements
  • Besides the main tasks and responsibilities listed above, responsible for completing any other tasks assigned by her/his supervisor or manager.
  • Knowledge of AI and automation tools will be an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Semi-qualified CA/CMA/CPA or MBA Finance with 2 - 5 years’ experience
  • Experience in accounting, reconciliation and analytical research functions
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • Experience in working for a multinational corporation (preferred)

  • Exposure to ERP, Systems is a desired
  • Strong Eye for detail and task oriented
