Job Description

The Oetinger publishing group is seeking a Manager for Digital Publishing Processes/Digital Asset Management (m/f/d) to centrally manage their DAM system. This role acts as a bridge between production, program, marketing, sales, and IT, overseeing the DAM's administration, development, and integration with other publishing software. Key responsibilities include managing content lifecycle, automating data flows, ensuring asset quality, contributing to digitalization projects, and providing training and support to internal teams.
Good To Have:
  • Familiarity with publishing software Biblio (Virtusales) or similar systems.
  • Experience in using AI/KI.
Must Have:
  • Manage, administer, and develop the DAM system, including structures, roles, rights, workflows, metadata, and taxonomies, and introduce governance & best practices.
  • Build and maintain integrations between DAM, CMS/Shop, ERP, and publishing software, automating data flows (API, XML/CSV, REST).
  • Manage production-related processes, including asset handover and versioning, print and e-book releases, and ensuring asset quality and completeness.
  • Contribute to cross-departmental digitalization projects, optimize workflows, automate processes, and advise departments on digital tool usage.
  • Provide training and support to internal teams for optimal system utilization.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in DAM/PIM or related roles (Content Operations, Application Management, Media-Workflows), ideally in publishing/media.
  • Practical experience with common DAM systems.
  • Strong understanding of prepress (InDesign workflows, image editing, color spaces, PDF/X) and e-book/audio asset chains (EPUB3).
  • Interface knowledge (APIs, XML/CSV, ONIX 3.0) and basic knowledge of data modeling & taxonomy.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and interdisciplinary projects.
  • Good German and English language skills, both written and spoken.

To strengthen our crew, we are looking for a Manager Digital Publishing Processes/Digital Asset Management (m/f/d) who will centrally be responsible for our DAM and act as a bridge between production, program, marketing, sales, and IT.

Your Tasks

  • DAM & Content-Lifecycle Ownership: Steering, administration, and further development of the DAM (structures, roles, rights, workflows, metadata, taxonomies). Introduction of governance & best practices.
  • Interfaces to Publishing Software (Pondus)/ERP/Web: Setup and maintenance of integrations between DAM Biblio (Virtusales), CMS/Shop, ERP, and publishing software; automation of data flows (API, XML/CSV, REST).
  • Production-related Processes: Handover & versioning of assets from prepress (covers, 4c images, internal illustrations, reading samples, audio samples); print and e-book releases (e.g., PDF/X, color profiles), asset quality & completeness.
  • Digitalization of Business Processes: Collaboration on cross-departmental digitalization projects (e.g., workflow optimization, process automation, mapping of production-specific processes in ERP); advising departments on the introduction and use of digital tools.
  • Training and support for internal teams for optimal system utilization.

Your Know-How is Required

  • 3–5+ years of experience in DAM/PIM or related roles (Content Operations, Application Management, Media-Workflows), ideally in publishing/media.
  • Practical experience with a common DAM (e.g., Celum, Bynder, AEM Assets, Canto, Brandfolder): Optimally familiar with publishing software Biblio (Virtusales) or comparable systems; understanding of title, rights, production, and metadata processes.
  • Good understanding of prepress (InDesign-based workflows, image editing, color spaces, PDF/X), as well as e-book/audio asset chains (EPUB3, audio samples).
  • Interface knowledge (APIs, XML/CSV, ONIX 3.0), basic knowledge of data modeling & taxonomy.
  • Strong communication skills, structured, service-oriented; experience in stakeholder management and interdisciplinary projects.
  • Experience in using AI/KI.
  • Good German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
