TelevisaUnivision is seeking a motivated Applications Manager to support and evolve their Information Technology Service offerings. This role focuses on managing applications within the Sales, Traffic, and Research System portfolio, with an emphasis on Sales and Research. The manager will act as a liaison between business users, vendors, and internal IT teams, ensuring applications operate successfully, including integrations. Key responsibilities include managing production issues, overseeing release management, preparing disaster recovery documentation, and serving as a liaison between stakeholders. The role involves partnering with business stakeholders to define system initiative scope and priorities, participating in process improvement discussions, supporting the software development lifecycle, and managing application development projects. The manager will also oversee contract employees and consultants.
Must have:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in customer technical support.
  • Minimum 3 years of managerial experience.
  • Skilled in relationship building and expectation management.
  • Skilled at communicating with users at different levels.
  • Skilled at communicating and managing issues with technical teams.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage project teams.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expert in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Good to have:
  • BS degree in computer science or similar, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Strata REpXpress, Strata AEXpress, Strata Station Portal, Strata Multi Market Posting, Strata ePort, Prisma, Matrix, Darwin.
  • Visio proficiency.
  • Experience with Excel Macros, PowerShell, Visual Basic, HTML (read/understand), MS SQL Server.

ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:

TelevisaUnivision is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Applications Manager, to assist in the support, evolution and management of our Information Technology Service offerings.  The successful candidate will manage multiple applications across our Sales, Traffic, and Research System’ portfolio with a focus on Sales and Research.  This individual will be part of a team that bridges the gap between the business users, vendors, technology partners and internal IT teams.  The Sales, Traffic & Research application suite spans audience measurement and reporting, master data management, customer relationship management, revenue pipeline management, proposal/order management, pricing and inventory management, commercial operations/trafficking, billing, operational reporting and analytical analysis.

The successful candidate’s primary responsibility is making sure the applications are operating successfully, including integrations to any other systems.  Core competencies include technical and application support, managing customer relationships, problem solving, release management, vendor management, and strong communication and analytical skills.

YOUR DAY-DAY: (aka Responsibilities)

  • Act as point of contact for all production issues or requests, working with TelevisaUnivision to identify priority, and with vendors to triage, resolve, and ultimately schedule resolution, following TelevisaUnivision standard operating procedures for change management
  • Oversee all Release Management tasks, working with vendor and business users to plan, test and deploy all releases, following TU standard operating procedures for change management.
  • Prepare and oversee disaster recovery documentation, testing and exercises
  • Serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders (including executives), business users, technology teams and vendor
  • Work with application users, vendors and other IT partners as needed on all product support related tasks
  • Partner with business stakeholders to define scope and priorities for system initiatives (new projects and ongoing maintenance); drive business engagement and relationships to understand key business objectives to support analysis and solution definition
  • Participate in value stream discussions to identify the current state processes; and elicit, identify and document potential opportunities for improvements
  • Support all areas of software development lifecycle including quality assurance testing, user acceptance testing, training, etc.
  • Foster collaboration among IT partners to keep them informed of related projects and other IT development requests
  • Maintain audit documentation and comply with all internal and external audit requirements for user access and change management
  • Manage application development projects and initiatives, partnering with other IT teams, business users and the vendor
  • Manage contract employees and consultants across support tasks, projects and initiatives
  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Decision Making responsibility:

  • Prioritizations and work assignments for team members
  • Technical recommendations for integrations design and implementation
  • Review new systems and make recommendations on feasibility and viability
  • Work with business users and vendors to solve system and business challenges and make recommendations on needed systems and/or enhancements
  • Design of systems implementation

YOU HAVE: (aka Qualifications)

  • BS degree in computer science or similar, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in customer technical support, with a focus on packaged business applications
  • Minimum 3 years managerial experience
  • Skilled in relationship building and expectation management
  • Skilled at communicating with users at different levels
  • Skilled at communicating with and presenting to executive management audiences
  • Skilled at communicating and managing issues with technical teams in a production environment
  • Ability to set priorities and objectives, then plan, organize, and manage the project team to meet time/schedule constraints
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent meeting planning and facilitation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Expert in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Visio a plus
  • Excel Macros, PowerShell, Visual Basic, HTML (read/understand), MS SQL Server
  • Ideally, knowledge of the following applications: Strata REpXpress, Strata AEXpress, Strata Station Portal, Strata Multi Market Posting, Strata ePort, Prisma, Matrix, Darwin

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Please note the national salary range listed in the job posting reflects the new hire salary range across levels and U.S. locations that would be applicable to the position.
Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000 + benefits
