Job Role: Virtual Assembly simulation

Job Description: Executing virtual assembly simulations that analyze automotive operator assembly processes to reduce risk, improve safety, and optimize efficiency before physical production begins. Key responsibilities include conducting realistic virtual assembly trials (digital human modeling) and validating workstation processes using Siemens Process Simulate, motion capture, and virtual reality tools to simulate operators of varying anthropometric percentiles and evaluate reach, vision, and clearance for consistent job performance across the workforce. This position requires close collaboration with program specialists and engineers across disciplines—including industrial engineering, product engineering, feasibility, logistics, workplace integration, tooling, ergonomics/safety—and incorporating operator feedback to visualize and validate future operations and product builds, enabling planning teams to make informed decisions early when changes are cost-effective. The candidate is expected to identify and resolve issues related to human factors and workstation design by applying ergonomics, industrial engineering principles, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) guidelines. The role also involves utilizing Siemens Teamcenter PLM to access manufacturing and product design data.

Basic Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Science, Industrial Engineering, Automotive or relevant field/work experience.
  • Proficient with Siemens Process Simulate software, version 2016 to current, specifically for Human/Jack Simulation (digital human modeling).
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)tools such as Siemens Teamcenter 11+, Dassault 3D Enovia/Experience, or similar.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional coordination.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in motion-capture, and VR technology applications in Manufacturing simulation
  • Experience in Manufacturing/Sequence BOM generation
  • Experience with VR technology applications in Manufacturing simulation
  • Experience with MODAPTS
  • Knowledge of Vehicle Assembly Process (General Assembly / TCF)
