The Orchard is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to join our dynamic Solutions team in the UK. Working with both Orchard clients and internal stakeholders, you will be responsible for the seamless operation of Orchard manufacturing by overseeing the production process from initial concept to final product delivery. You will evangelise adherence to deadlines and quality standards. This is a highly responsible role that requires working to strict schedules, a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, a collaborative spirit and a love for all types of music.
What you'll do:
- Production and scheduling: Develop and maintain transparent production schedule, ensuring all deadlines are adhered to and timely delivery of all Orchard manufactured product to our warehousing and fulfillment partners.
- Manufacturer and supplier liaison: Coordinate with brokers, manufacturers and other suppliers to fulfill all mastering, replication and print requirements.
- Project coordination: Collaborate with internal teams including but not limited to Solutions Managers and Relationship Managers, as well as Orchard clients and external partners to ensure smooth execution of projects.
- Budget and cost management: Ensure production is cost-effective and meets budgetary targets. Coordinate quotes and negotiate costs for all Orchard manufacturing.
- Quality control: Oversee the approval of test pressings and design work, including artwork and packaging proofs, and monitor production processes to ensure quality standards of finished product delivery.
- Troubleshoot any issues or concerns from our clients and work with our suppliers with a solution focused mindset to create positive outcomes in all scenarios.
- Asset management: manage and archive all audio and artwork assets.
- Process improvement: Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and execution.
- Advise and remind internal and external stakeholders on manufacturing best practices, be a constant and reliable source of knowledge and truth at The Orchard and for our clients.
Who you are:
- Highly organised, bringing a methodical and exacting approach to your work
- At least two years relevant experience at a broker, manufacturer, label or distributor
- A deep understanding of the CD and Vinyl manufacturing process, from cutting lacquers through production and delivery of finished goods
- A multi-tasker with supreme attention to detail, follow-through and effective prioritization
- Excellent communicator on phone, email, and in person
