Job Description

The Plant Surveillance Engineer at NXP Semiconductors in Nijmegen is responsible for the 24/7 operation and maintenance of various industrial installations within the factory's Facilities department. This includes controlling and operating systems like air conditioning, vacuum, water treatment, cooling, heating, and emergency power. The role involves responding to and resolving first-line disturbances, handling incidents, ensuring compliance with EHS principles, and potentially substituting for the Supervisor. The ideal candidate is MBO level 4 educated in relevant technical fields, possesses practical experience with industrial utilities, and is customer-focused, a team player, and flexible for shift work.
Must have:
  • Control and operate facilities installations (air conditioning, vacuum, demiwater, chillers, boilers, compressors, emergency power, wastewater treatment, gas scrubbers, extraction systems, bulk gases).
  • Respond to and resolve first-line disturbances and specification exceedances from Building Management System (BMS, WinCC-Siemens).
  • Handle incidents and perform operational activities.
  • Comply with laws and regulations and adhere to EHS principles.
  • Substitute for the Supervisor when necessary.
  • Completed MBO level 4 education in AOT-Techniek, (ship)-mechanical engineering, or industrial utilities.
  • Relevant work experience in industrial utilities domains.
  • Excellent command of the Dutch language.
  • Customer-focused, eager to learn, team player, quality-oriented, and accurate.
  • Flexible and willing to work in shifts.

Plant Surveillance Engineer - Facilities

Within the Facilities department, we ensure that the factory can operate 24/7 and 365 days a year. Will you strengthen our team of dedicated engineers?

Your responsibilities include

  • Responsible for control and operational activities on all installations managed by the facilities department within NXP, such as: air conditioning, vacuum, demineralized water installations, chillers and cooling towers, hot water boilers, compressors, emergency power supply, wastewater treatment and gas scrubbers, extraction systems and bulk gases.
  • Respond to and resolve first-line disturbances and specification exceedances on all installations from our Building Management System (BMS, WinCC-Siemens).
  • Responsible for incident handling and operational activities.
  • Comply with laws and regulations and adhere to EHS principles.
  • Substitute for the Supervisor in relevant cases.

What you bring

  • A completed MBO level 4 education in one of the following domains: AOT-Techniek (General Operational Technology), (ship)-mechanical engineering/mechanical engineering/industrial Utilities.
  • This position is suitable for someone with relevant work experience in some of these domains such as: Air conditioning, Vacuum, Demineralized water installations, Chillers and cooling towers, Hot water boilers, Compressors, Emergency power supply, Wastewater treatment and gas scrubbers, Extraction systems and bulk gases.
  • You are customer-focused, proud of your work, and energized by troubleshooting and performing corrective and preventive maintenance.
  • You have an excellent command of the Dutch language.
  • You are eager to learn, a team player, quality-oriented, and work accurately.
  • You are flexible and enjoy working in shifts.
