Motion Designer

btf (bildundtonfabrik) is looking for a full-time, temporary Motion Designer to develop and implement visual design concepts for show, film, and series productions. Responsibilities include creating 2D and 3D animations for motion graphics, main titles, screen content, infographics, and on-air design. The role involves close collaboration with direction, editorial, graphics, editing, and post-production teams, and supporting pitch and presentation visuals. Candidates should have strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite and 3D motion graphics software.

Must Have

• Very good knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
• Experience in creating 3D Motion Graphics (e.g., with Cinema 4D, Blender or similar) and Generative AI Tools
• Confident sense of design, image composition, typography, and movement
• Ability to implement different visual styles and format languages
• Understanding of timing, rhythm, and storytelling in animation
• Interest in digital trends, moving image aesthetics, and visual innovations
• Structured and reliable teamwork and communication with other departments

Good to Have

• Knowledge of illustration, typography, editing, grading, VFX, or sound design
• Basic knowledge of Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, or other post-production tools

Your tasks

For our fiction, documentary and show productions, we are looking for a Motion Designer (all gender) immediately, full-time and on a temporary basis.

• Development and implementation of visual design concepts for show, film and series productions
• Creation of 2D and 3D animations for motion graphics, main titles, screen content graphics, infographics, media set designs, music performances and on-air design
• Design and animation within existing corporate or format design
• Close cooperation with direction, editorial, graphics, editing and post-production
• Support for pitch and presentation visuals

Your profile

Since 2012, btf (bildundtonfabrik) has been an independent production company for fiction, show, documentary, games and advertising. From the first idea to the script, post-production and visual FX, we produce everything completely in-house. Award-winning shows, series, films, documentaries, video games and advertising for an international audience are created at our location in Cologne-Ehrenfeld and the associated Studio König and in our Games department in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
