Job Summary
As a Network Technical Specialist, you will provide technical service, solutions, and support for networks, infrastructure, products, and services operated by Telstra. The role involves managing equipment like INFINERA, CIENA, NEC, and IP routers, using test tools such as OTDR and Power Meters for troubleshooting, overseeing installations, hardware upgrades, and fiber optic restoration. You will support POP sites in various locations, requiring flexibility for travel and 24/7 emergency response, along with a technical degree and at least three years of telecom experience.
Must Have
- Operate and maintain subsea cable station facilities and telecom equipment (INFINERA, CIENA, NEC, PFE’s, TYCO, LUCENT, NOKIA, IP routers, switches).
- Use test instruments such as OTDR, COTDR, EXFO, Power Meter, and related tools for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal network performance and minimal downtime.
- Support operations and maintenance at POP sites in Makati, Pasig, and other locations.
- Willingness to travel and work on-call 24/7 during network issues.
- Oversee physical installation of equipment, cabling, testing, and hardware upgrades for network projects.
- Respond to fiber optics outside plant failures and restore backhaul connectivity promptly.
- Ensure compliance with technical standards and maintain good moral character.
- Strong knowledge of telecom systems, subsea cable station operations, and fiber optics technology.
- Skilled in operating INFINERA, CIENA, NEC, PFE’s, TYCO, LUCENT, NOKIA, IP routers, switches.
- Proficient in OTDR, COTDR, EXFO, Power Meter, and related tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues quickly.
- Experience in installation, cabling, and hardware upgrades.
- College or technical degree in Telecommunications or Information Technologies.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the telecommunications field.
- Hands-on experience with subsea cable station operations and network maintenance.

Qualifications
