Job Description

Sika is seeking an Operator to join their team in Upper Deerfield Township, New Jersey. The role involves understanding and complying with safety policies, achieving housekeeping objectives, executing production processes according to quality guidelines, and operating and maintaining equipment. The Operator will also be responsible for completing SAP order confirmations, documenting process times, and assisting with set-ups for incoming shifts. This full-time position requires 1-2 years of industrial experience and forklift operation skills.

Must Have:

Understand and comply with all Sika safety, site security and environmental policies.
Achieve established housekeeping objectives adhering to established best practices.
Execute production processes according to established quality guidelines.
Understand and attain the daily production schedule.
Ensure proper set-up of materials and good operating condition of the equipment.
Complete SAP order confirmations in an accurate and timely manner.
Document process times and quality test results.
Execute production activities including batch making, packaging of finished goods, product set-ups and change-overs.
Operate and maintain equipment according to best practices.
High school diploma or GED.
1-2 years of experience in an industrial environment.
Forklift operator experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Good math skills, including the ability to work with fractions, decimals and percentages.
Ability to develop process expertise in order to facilitate troubleshooting.
Ability to maintain an excellent attendance record.
Flexibility to work any shift and overtime as business requires.
Self-motivated and able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to operate a forklift and other equipment as trained.
Ability to travel, by air if necessary, within the United States to complete initial training.

Responsibilities & Opportunities

Achieve established housekeeping objectives adhering to established best practices and ensuring work areas are maintained and left in a clean and orderly fashion.
Execute production processes according to established quality guidelines while reporting process variations in a timely fashion.
Understand and attain the daily production schedule.
Ensure that production processes achieve optimum rate-of-output.
Ensure proper set-up of materials and good operating condition of the equipment prior to executing batch making processes and to assist as directed with the set-up for incoming shifts.
Complete SAP order confirmations in an accurate and timely manner.
Document process times and quality test results.
Execute production activities including batch making, packaging of finished goods, product set-ups and change-overs and other production activities as directed by the Production Supervisor / Manager.
Operate and maintain equipment according to best practices and assist in preventive maintenance activities and troubleshooting as needed.
Work with a positive attitude and as a team towards a common goal.
Guide, assist and train new and temporary employees.
Lead, participate or support continuous improvement activities as directed by Management.
Execute other projects or activities to-be-determined as directed by Management.

Salary Range: $20 - $23.84 an hour based on education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.

Preferred Skills

Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: 1 - 2 years of experience in an industrial environment
Forklift operator experience is required
