The Daily Wire is seeking an Opinion Editor to serve as a senior editorial leader shaping and elevating our opinion and commentary coverage. In this role, you will guide the development, editing, and publication of timely, persuasive pieces on news, politics, and culture, ensuring each contribution reflects The Daily Wire’s mission and meets high standards for clarity, factual grounding, and responsible argumentation. You will work closely with contributors and editorial leadership to define the voice of the opinion section, manage a diverse group of writers, and help frame public debate through principled, well-reasoned perspectives that inform and influence a broad audience.

Must Have

• Set strategic direction for the opinion section.
• Identify key news, political, and cultural issues for commentary.
• Oversee opinion pieces from pitch through publication.
• Ensure opinion content is persuasive, coherent, and consistent.
• Manage columnists and contributors, assign pieces, enforce deadlines.
• Provide editorial feedback and coaching to strengthen writing.
• Partner with legal counsel to manage legal, ethical, and reputational risk.
• Collaborate with newsroom, homepage, and audience teams.
• Strong editorial judgment in opinion journalism.
• Exceptional editing and argument-structuring skills.
• Ability to manage writers and contributors.
• Deep understanding of news, politics, and cultural discourse.
• Clear sense of editorial voice and persuasive writing standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for the opinion section in alignment with organizational mission and editorial priorities
• Identify key news, political, and cultural issues requiring commentary and ensure timely, relevant coverage
• Oversee opinion pieces from pitch through publication, refining arguments, structure, and clarity
• Ensure opinion content is persuasive, coherent, and consistent with editorial standards
• Manage columnists and contributors by assigning pieces, setting expectations, and enforcing deadlines
• Provide editorial feedback and coaching to strengthen writing quality and argumentation
• Partner with legal counsel and senior editors to manage legal, ethical, and reputational risk
• Collaborate with newsroom, homepage, and audience teams to coordinate publication and distribution

Experience & Requirements

• Background in Journalism, Communications, Political Science, or related field preferred.
• Strong editorial judgment in opinion journalism
• Exceptional editing and argument-structuring skills
• Ability to manage writers and contributors in a fast-paced environment
• Deep understanding of news, politics, and cultural discourse
• Clear sense of editorial voice and persuasive writing standards
