Project / role / missions description

Thales DIS develops solutions and components for the secure payment, digital identification, connected objects, and NFC infrastructure markets.

The design teams participate in all stages of component or SoC development: specifications, validation, production launch, development of programming tools, cryptographic libraries, and customer support.

Within the Processors team, you will contribute to the evolution of the open-source CVA6 processor developed by the OpenHW Group, in which Thales participates.

Your missions will be as follows:

• Execute power consumption simulations of the RISC-V CVA6 processor to evaluate the impact of activated operations on energy levels.
• Propose optimizations for the CVA6 implementation to reduce consumption variations (min/max) and evaluate them using a Python model.
• Implement the validated improvements in the RTL.

During this experience, you will discover the different stages of processor industrialization and get hands-on with essential tools for digital design professions.

Your profile

Are you in your penultimate year of engineering school or equivalent in computer science?

Do you want to discover the complete workflow of a digital design project development and deepen your knowledge of the RISC-V universe?

You have skills in:

• Python development;
• Architecture and digital design (a first approach to RTL is a plus).
