Thales is a global high-tech leader specializing in three sectors: Defense & Security, Aerospace & Space, and Cyber & Digital. It develops products and solutions that contribute to a safer, more environmentally friendly, and more inclusive world. The Group invests nearly 4 billion euros per year in Research & Development, particularly in key innovation areas such as AI, cybersecurity, quantum, cloud technologies, and 6G. Thales has nearly 81,000 employees in 68 countries.
At the heart of Saint Quentin en Yvelines, the Elancourt site is one of Thales's most important technological centers of excellence. The diversity and technicality of the systems and equipment mobilize expertise in more than 80 professions in defense, high-tech security, and digital services solutions.
This internship subject is part of a context of improving the performance of optronic products. Theoretical and technical support will be provided by the Digital/Analog/Power Service where the intern will be hosted. This study will ultimately serve to develop electronic boards for new generation products. The Digital/Analog/Power Service, part of the Technical Competence Center, designs and develops digital electronic boards (FPGA, DSP, memories, communication buses) and analog boards (low-noise weak signals, sensor acquisition) and power boards (DC/DC, motor/servomechanism control). The service is composed of about thirty electronics engineers and technicians.
Within the analog acquisition chains of our optronic products based on the use of operational amplifier components in transimpedance (TIA) configuration, we observe that the bandwidth of our TIA circuits is highly dependent on the parasitic feedback capacitance of the configurations. The aim of the internship would be to create electronics implementing current switching in the PN junction whose temperature needs to be known; the junction voltage will be digitized by a low-noise ADC via the use of an ARDUINO type board.
The different missions of the internship are:
Are you in the final year of an engineering curriculum specializing in electronics and looking for a 6-month internship?
Do you have solid knowledge in electronics and associated components (power)?
Do you have a good command of reading electronic circuit diagrams and electronic circuit simulation tools?
Ideally, do you have basic knowledge of operational amplifiers?
Are you familiar with the LTSPICE simulation tool and schematic/placement/routing tools (KiCad / ALLEGRO)?
Are you recognized for your good synthesis skills, strong motivation, and interpersonal skills?
Then this internship is for you!
All our internships are conventioned and subject to gratification, the amount of which is determined according to your level of study.
Thales, a Handi-Engaged company, recognizes all talents. Diversity is our best asset. Apply and join us!
