Payroll Accountant

We are looking for a Payroll Accountant to handle accurate and timely payroll processes for Room 8 Group. This role involves supporting daily and monthly payroll operations, collecting and validating payroll data, cooperating with payroll providers, performing accuracy checks, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with various departments on payroll-related matters. The accountant will also assist in audits and participate in automation initiatives.

Must Have

• 3+ years of experience in accounting, payroll accounting or related fields
• Higher degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics or Mathematics
• Solid understanding of payroll processes, basic calculation rules, statutory requirements and standard payroll cycles
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, basic data validation)
• English: Intermediate+ or Upper-Intermediate

Good to Have

• Experience working with multiple countries/locations
• Experience supporting or participating in the implementation/migration of payroll processes into HRMS/Payroll systems (PeopleForce, Deel, others)
• Basic understanding of contract law or tax law

Superpowers you have:

• Support daily and monthly payroll operations for assigned countries/locations.
• Collect, validate, and prepare payroll data (validation of timesheets, benefits, contract updates, reimbursements, etc.).
• Cooperate with payroll providers, ensuring timely submission of data, clarifications, and corrections.
• Perform initial checks, comparisons, basic reconciliation, and accuracy controls before and after the payroll run.
• Support maintenance of payroll documentation, guidelines, and internal procedures.
• Initiate updates to payroll processes, templates, and internal controls within the area of responsibility.
• Collaboration with HR, Legal, Finance, and other departments on payroll-related matters.
• Assist during internal/external payroll audits (data preparation, documents, clarifications).
• Participate in automation or process improvement initiatives.
• Handle other operational payroll tasks as assigned.
