Technical Artist

Room 8 Group is an end-to-end strategic partner in external game development, providing creative and technical expertise across various platforms for AAA and AA games. The Game Development team offers comprehensive co-dev and full-cycle solutions, having contributed to major titles like Call of Duty. We are seeking a Technical Artist with a passion for performance optimization to help bring a client’s upcoming title to Nintendo Switch 2, working within a custom engine to ensure efficient asset and rendering system scaling across hardware.

Must Have

• 3–5+ years as a Technical Artist or similar role
• Strong understanding of real-time rendering and game optimization
• Experience optimizing constrained or handheld platforms (e.g., Switch, mobile)
• Comfortable working with custom/proprietary engines and evolving pipelines
• Technical proficiency in shader development, profiling tools, and scripting (Python, C#, or C++)

• Experience shipping titles on Nintendo platforms or similar hardware

We’re seeking a Technical Artist with a passion for performance optimization to help bring our client’s upcoming title to Nintendo Switch 2. In this role, you’ll work within a custom engine environment, ensuring assets, rendering systems, and pipelines scale efficiently across hardware.

Superpowers you have:

• 3–5+ years as a Technical Artist or similar role;

• Profile, diagnose, and resolve CPU, GPU, and memory bottlenecks;
• Adapt assets and content to meet Switch 2 platform constraints;
• Improve tools, asset pipelines, and optimization processes in a proprietary engine;
• Define and implement best practices for LODs, textures, materials, and draw-call efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with art and engineering teams to maintain visual quality while achieving performance targets.
