What is the challenge and opportunity for you?

Are you passionate about leading the design and delivery of advanced operational models for multi-cloud, networking, and security at a global enterprise scale?

As a Staff-level TAM, you are more than an advisor; you are a strategic leader responsible for developing technical roadmaps and leading cross-functional teams to achieve critical business objectives. This role requires "wide-ranging experience" to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Within the TAM organization, you represent functional breadth and depth, mentoring junior members and leveraging superior project management skills to enhance the overall customer experience.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months?

As an ICB4 professional, you are expected to operate with significant autonomy and demonstrate high-level judgment.

  • 3 Months: Beyond mastering VMware technology, you will independently determine work priorities and establish yourself as a knowledge leader in your area of specialization.
  • 4 Months: You will identify latent customer challenges and develop joint success plans based on in-depth evaluations of variable factors.
  • 12 Months: You will be recognized as a "Change Agent" and a premier industry specialist. You will:
  • Resolve complex problems using creative and innovative methods to maximize business value.
  • Design and lead the delivery of new processes or product adoptions.
  • Present at "TAM Business Reviews," demonstrating how technical outcomes have influenced executive-level decision-making and long-range organizational goals.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

As a Staff member, you will perform broad and advanced tasks:

  • Subject Matter Leadership: Act as an in-house expert, providing leadership not only in your primary domain but also across complementary technical fields.
  • Strategic Delivery: Design unique methodologies and evaluation criteria tailored to specific customer environments, moving beyond standard playbooks to achieve innovative solutions.
  • Escalation & Mentoring: Serve as the final escalation point for complex issues and provide coaching and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Influencing Strategy: Provide strategic feedback to Product Management and Engineering, advancing Broadcom’s position and influencing the future product roadmap.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of related experience; post-graduate coursework is desirable.
  • Multiple VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certifications and expert-level knowledge in complementary fields.

Leadership, Team, and Culture

  • Supportive Leadership: Our managers focus on your career path and encourage team collaboration. TAMs take immense pride in their impact on customer success.
  • Collaborative Culture: We are a diverse, unified team that prioritizes "doing the right thing" for the customer. We are an open team that shares best practices and celebrates the success of our peers.
  • Strategic Impact: The TAM role is essential to VMware's success, focusing on strategic outcomes rather than just activities.

Location & Travel

  • Office: Tokyo, Japan.
  • Travel: Ability to travel domestically and occasionally internationally. Most travel involves day trips or one-night stays for customer meetings (approx. 2-3 times per month).

Benefits

  • Holidays: 125+ days annually (Weekends, National Holidays, Year-end/New Year).
  • Paid Leave: 16 days in years 1-2, increasing up to 20 days.
  • Sick Leave: 10 days of paid sick leave annually (separate from vacation).
