Job Summary

SmartBear is seeking a People & Culture Operations Partner to drive HR operations, compliance, and employee experience in their Bangalore Office. This role involves leading site-level HR, managing the employee lifecycle, optimizing HR processes with AI, ensuring compliance with Indian labor laws, and independently leading P&C initiatives. The partner will also serve as a trusted HR advisor and manage vendor relationships, advocating for Bangalore-based employees within a global P&C organization.

Must Have

  • Act as primary P&C representative for the Bangalore office.
  • Manage employee lifecycle activities such as onboarding, contract generation, offboarding, and exit interviews.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize HR operations to enhance scalability and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws, PF, tax policies, and SmartBear internal controls.
  • Independently lead and deliver P&C initiatives across Bangalore.
  • Serve as a trusted HR advisor to employees and managers on employee relations, performance, leave, and policy inquiries.
  • Manage relationships with local vendors supporting benefits and employee services.
  • 4–7 years of experience in HR operations, HR generalist, or business partner roles.
  • Solid understanding of Indian labor law, HR compliance, and regulatory standards.
  • Proficiency with HRIS tools like BambooHR, including comfort managing employee data and generating reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.

We’re seeking a People & Culture Operations Partner to drive HR operations, compliance, and employee experience across our Bangalore Office. This role combines operational execution with site-level HR leadership and is ideal for a proactive professional who’s excited to drive scalable people initiatives locally, lead impactful projects, and serve as a strong advocate for Bangalore-based employees within a global P&C organization.

People & Culture Operations Partner

Key Responsibilities

Bangalore Site HR Leadership

  • Act as the primary P&C representative for the Bangalore office, partnering closely with local leaders, team managers, and employees.
  • Serve as an advocate for the Bangalore team, ensuring employee needs, feedback, and perspectives are represented in global P&C decisions.
  • Champion SmartBear’s culture locally, ensuring a consistent and engaging experience aligned with company values.

Employee Lifecycle Management

  • Manage lifecycle activities such as onboarding, contract generation, offboarding, and exit interviews.
  • Ensure a seamless onboarding experience in alignment with our global onboarding SLAs and processes.
  • Maintain high standards for employee documentation and records in systems like BambooHR.

Operational Excellence & AI-Driven Process Improvement

  • Continuously evaluate and optimize HR operations to enhance scalability and efficiency.
  • Introduce automation and AI-based solutions to improve workflows and reduce manual administrative tasks.
  • Partner with internal teams to launch or improve tools, systems, and documentation.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws, PF, tax policies, and SmartBear internal controls.
  • Support data audits, internal reviews, and the accuracy of employee records.
  • Deliver timely, accurate reports and insights to support business and people decisions.

Project Ownership & Delivery

  • Independently lead and deliver P&C initiatives across Bangalore, such as process improvement, well-being programs, or policy rollouts.
  • Work cross-functionally to align project goals, drive execution, and track impact through to completion.
  • Collaborate with global and regional P&C peers to support scalable implementation.

Employee Relations & Manager Support

  • Serve as a trusted HR advisor to employees and managers, providing support on employee relations, performance, leave, and policy inquiries.
  • Facilitate feedback loops and support a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.
  • Handle complex or sensitive issues with discretion, empathy, and alignment to best practices.
  • Manage relationships with local vendors supporting benefits and employee services.
  • Ensure vendor service levels meet expectations and align with employee experience standards.

What You Bring

  • 4–7 years of experience in HR operations, HR generalist, or business partner roles, with a strong focus on employee-facing responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to support employees and managers through day-to-day HR matters, including performance, leave, and employee relations.
  • Solid understanding of Indian labor law, HR compliance, and regulatory standards.
  • Proven experience independently managing projects from planning through successful execution.
  • Track record of improving HR processes or implementing automation to enhance employee experience and operational efficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across diverse teams; fluent in English.
  • Highly organized, solutions-oriented, and effective working in a global, cross-cultural environment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS tools like BambooHR, including comfort managing employee data and generating reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
