WTNH/WCTX News 8 is seeking a creative news photographer and editor. The role demands a high degree of professionalism, effective communication, and the ability to manage workload under pressure. Responsibilities include shooting and editing video for newscasts, creating content for web and social media, operating live trucks, and potentially drones. The position requires physical capability to handle equipment and a commitment to daily news cycles, including weekends and holidays.

Must Have

• Shoot and edit video for newscasts
• Create videos and photos for web and social media
• Ability to carry 50 lbs. of equipment
• Ability to set up for live shots on short notice
• Ability to work under pressure
• Run an ENG live truck
• Valid license and good driving record
• Three years TV news experience
• Experience in shooting and editing stories on a daily deadline basis
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts

Good to Have

• Part 107 certified drone operator or willingness to obtain certification
• Ability to run SNG truck
• Familiarity with Premiere
• Bachelors Degree

• Shoot and edit video for award-winning newscasts including daily packages, VO's/VOSOTS, special assignments, and natural sound packages
• Additional focus on creating videos and photos for our web and social media platforms
• Must be able to carry 50 lbs. of equipment (camera, tripod, lighting and audio equipment)
• Must be able to set up for live shots on very short notice
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Run an ENG live truck. Helpful if you can run SNG truck.
• Part 107 certified drone operator or willingness to obtain certification
• Drive and maintain news vehicles
• Suggest story ideas
• Read newspapers, competitive websites, and follow social media daily.
• Position requires performance of other job-related duties as assigned.
• Confers with other personnel to discuss assignments, logistics, and shot requirements

Requirements & Skills:

• Bachelors Degree preferred
• Three years TV news experience
• Must have valid license and good driving record
• Experience in shooting and editing stories on a daily deadline basis
• Familiarity with Premiere a plus
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have good attitude and be a team player
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts
