News Producer

The News Producer is responsible for producing daily newscasts, including deciding story order, writing content, timing programs, editing video, and posting to the website. This role requires a strong writer with excellent news judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure and with a team. The producer will also interact with viewers on social media.

Must Have

• Produce newscasts for broadcast across all platforms
• Write and order news stories

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

KAMR Local 4 News in Amarillo, Texas, is looking for a newscast producer. This person must be able to take control of a newscast and put a great product on the air. You must be a good writer, have good news judgment, be detail oriented, work well under pressure, work well with others, and be a hard worker. This is a full-time position.

Requirements & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
