Producer I, News

The News Producer is responsible for producing daily newscasts, determining story order, writing content like teases, timing programs, editing video, and publishing video to the website. This role involves creating compelling broadcasts by balancing news and feature content, approving scripts, and interacting with viewers on social media. The producer also writes stories for various eMedia platforms.

Must Have

• Produce newscasts for broadcast across all platforms
• Write and order news stories

• Edit video
• Write stories for the website and other eMedia platforms
• Interact with viewers and users on social media sites
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Minimum two years’ experience in news operations
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Flexibility to work any shift

Requirements & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Minimum two years’ experience in news operations (Depending on market size)
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Flexibility to work any shift
