Photographer II, WTVR

WTVR, The E.W. Scripps Company CBS affiliate in Richmond, VA, is looking for a Photographer to join their team. The Photographer will capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms, and operate various news gathering equipment, including microwave live trucks, video cameras, and video editing equipment. Key duties include operating and maintaining live equipment, and collaborating with newsroom personnel to develop stories.

Must Have

• Capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms.
• Operate and maintain live equipment including microwave, satellite and related news gathering equipment.
• Work in tandem with newsroom personnel to create and develop news stories.
• Proficiency with lighting and computer based editing.
• Proficiency with live microwave truck operation.
• Knowledge of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws.
• Knowledge of and proficiency in posting content to station's web sites.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Good to Have

• Associates degree in related discipline.
• Generally 2+ years of experience in related field.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms.
• Operate and maintain live equipment including microwave, satellite and related news gathering equipment.
• Work in tandem with newsroom personnel to create and develop news stories.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Associates degree in related discipline preferred
• Generally 2+ years of experience in related field preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Proficiency with lighting and computer based editing
• Proficiency with live microwave truck operation
• Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws
• Knowledge of and proficiency in posting content to station's web sites
• Able to work efficiently under multiple deadlines on a daily basis
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits
