Job Description

As a Plant Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of overseeing plant operations, including production, quality, safety, and shipping/receiving. You will lead and develop a team, ensure compliance with regulations, implement operational plans, manage to business financials, and identify continuous improvement opportunities. The role involves meeting safety, cost, quality, and delivery commitments, controlling manufacturing processes, ensuring employee compliance, performing administrative activities, developing business plans, and providing leadership.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Management
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in Manufacturing leadership.
Good to have:
  • Prior plant level leadership experience in union and non-union facilities
  • Experience in various aspects of production operations
  • Strong track record of coaching and team engagement skills

Who will you be working with?

Here you’ll interact daily with team members during the problem resolution process and will partner with other key stakeholders to support our internal customers and their responsibilities.

As a Plant Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of overseeing plant operations, including production, quality, safety, and shipping/receiving. You will lead and develop a team, ensure compliance with regulations, implement operational plans, manage to business financials, and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business Management (Operations) from an accredited university or college

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a Manufacturing leadership position

Desired Characteristics:

  • Prior plant level leadership experience in union and non-union facilities

  • Experience in EHS, shop operations, customer services operations, manufacturing engineering, quality, materials, sourcing, and material logistics

  • Prior plant level experience with various aspects of production operations

  • Strong track record of coaching and team engagement skills

  • Strong understanding of operations and business financials

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, and customer focused environment

What will your typical day look like?

  • Responsible for meeting all established safety, cost, quality, and delivery commitments for kitting

  • Control manufacturing processes through plans that consider personnel requirements, materials, turnout, sub-contracting, facilities, tooling, and equipment

  • Ensure assigned employees are aware/comply with all Wabtec, government, customer and applicable policies, procedures, rules and regulations

  • Perform necessary administrative activities associated with effective management of shop operations, including necessary interface activities with other functions and organizations required to accomplish all objectives

  • Develop necessary business plans which encompasses all requirements, including safety, quality, throughput, labor hours, cycle, cost productivity, and delivery

  • Provide ongoing leadership, counseling, and support for plant leadership, guiding them in current positions and assisting with career development and training

  • Assure commitment in own and other’s actions to the pursuit of highest possible quality of services, internal, and delivered products to customers

  • Work with a variety of cross-functional leaders to achieve business level targets for the Wabtec

Our job titles may span more than one career level.  The salary range for this role is between $89,100 - $126,900.

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.  The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare and retirement are available at www.mywabtecbenefits.com.
