Job Summary

As a Platform Hardware Engineer, you will own or participate in platform design for chip bring-up boards and final systems. Responsibilities include developing specifications based on end-user requirements, schematic capture, board block design, defining routing constraints, layout review, simulation, lab bring-up, test, and debugging. You will also conduct power and signal integrity analysis, high-speed interface characterization, and resolve system-level issues related to silicon validation and characterization.

Must Have

  • Knowledge of high-speed, high-power, system design
  • Knowledge of defining routing constraints for high-speed interfaces
  • Familiarity with board-level interfaces (I2C, SPI, DDR)
  • Design and analysis of power supplies and power integrity
  • Signal integrity analysis and measurement techniques
  • CPU/SOC/Microcontroller system architecture expertise
  • Test automation expertise using Python
  • Board level analog and digital circuit design
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well in a team

Good to Have

  • HDL experience

Job Description

Positions are open for both senior and junior full-time engineers in platform and board design.


Responsibilities
  • As a Platform Hardware Engineer, you will own or participate in the following: 
  • Platform design for chip bring-up boards and final systems
  • Developing specifications based on requirements from end users
  • Schematic capture, board block design, defining routing constraints, layout review and simulation
  • Lab bring-up, test, and debugging
  • Power and signal integrity analysis (with specialists)
  • High-speed interface characterization
  • Debugging system-level issues
  • Resolving system-level issues related to silicon validation and characterization


Requirements
  • We are looking for experienced engineers ready to tackle complex design challenges as well as junior engineers looking to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of high-speed, high-power, system design
  • Knowledge of defining routing constraints for high-speed interfaces
  • Familiarity with a variety of board-level interfaces: I2C, SPI, DDR, etc
  • Design and analysis of power supplies as well as power integrity analysis
  • Excellent signal integrity analysis and measurement techniquesCPU/SOC/Microcontroller system architecture expertise
  • Test automation expertise using Python
  • Board level analog and digital circuit design expertise
  • HDL experience is a plus
  • Excellent skills in problem solving, written and verbal communication, excellent organization skills, and highly self-motivated.
  • Ability to work well in a team and be productive under aggressive schedules.
  • Junior engineers should have experience designing small boards (schematic, layout, manufacturing, debug)
  • Senior engineers should have experience architecting high-end, multi-board platforms in parallel with silicon and product development


Education and Experience
  • PhD, Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in technical subject area.
