Apple's Environmental Technologies team is seeking a highly motivated Product Compliance Engineer for systems to drive critical software tools for environmental compliance. This role involves scoping features, guiding business analysts in generating detailed user and system requirements, and partnering with diverse stakeholders and software development leads. Must Have
- Translate product compliance needs into strategic tool and feature execution plans.
- Guide Business Analysts in gathering and translating complex requirements into detailed user stories and system requirements.
- Own development and improvement of tools supporting key environmental compliance areas.
- Work with Engineering Technical Leads for design feasibility and optimized solutions.
- Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning, and user story refinement utilizing an agile framework.
- Gather inputs, and communicate feature development progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Identify opportunities for system integration, data flow optimization, and automation for efficiency.
- Champion user-centric design; ensure intuitive, efficient tools are developed to meet user needs.
- Collaborate on training, documentation; support successful rollout and adoption of new tools.
- Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or related technical field.
- 5+ years Product Owner/Analyst experience in material compliance data systems.
- Strong technical acumen in data models, architecture, and software development.
- Proven product leadership: guiding roadmaps, creating user stories, maintaining backlogs; guiding business analysts.
- Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative cross-functional team environment.
Good to Have
- Master's degree in a relevant technical or environmental field.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Familiar with chemical reporting frameworks and pertinent regulations (SCIP, RoHS, REACH).
- Experience within the consumer electronics industry.

Apple’s Environmental Technologies team is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Product Compliance Engineer for systems to drive critical software tools for Apple's environmental compliance efforts, supporting its Full Material Disclosure ecosystem and managing vital compliance tracking systems. In this role you will scope features and requirements, and guide business analysts in generating detailed user and system requirements. This role requires close partnership with a diverse set of stakeholders providing user and system requirements, and collaborating with software development leads to bridge non-technical asks to new features and capabilities, enabling Apple to achieve its environmental goals.
This position is offered in Apple's Environmental Technologies group within Apple's Hardware Engineering division. - Translate product compliance needs into strategic tool and feature execution plans.
- Guide Business Analysts in gathering and translating complex requirements into detailed user stories and system requirements.
- Own development and improvement of tools supporting key environmental compliance areas, such as materials/substances, recyclability, recycled content, energy efficiency, design for repair, and packaging.
- Work with Engineering Technical Leads for design feasibility and optimized solutions
- Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning, and user story refinement utilizing an agile framework
- Gather inputs, and communicate feature development progress, challenges, and solutions, collaborating with a diverse stakeholder group
- Identify opportunities for system integration, data flow optimization, and automation for efficiency

Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's in an Engineering Discipline, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or related technical field
- 5+ years Product Owner/Analyst experience in material compliance (or similar) data systems
- Strong technical acumen: data models, architecture, software development
- Proven product leadership: guiding roadmaps, creating user stories, maintaining backlogs; guiding business analysts
- Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative cross-functional team environment
Preferred Qualifications

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
