Job Description

Mercer is seeking a PMO Manager to establish and lead its new PMO unit, crucial for driving transformation projects in innovation, productivity, digitalization, and regulatory compliance. This strategic role involves defining methodologies, managing project portfolios, supporting project managers, coordinating strategic initiatives, setting KPIs, and ensuring effective internal communication. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of project management experience, a Bac+5 degree, and expertise in various project management methodologies and tools, ready to foster operational excellence within a complex IT ecosystem.
Must have:
  • Structure and animate the PMO function (methods, tools, standards)
  • Implement and monitor the project portfolio (roadmaps, reports, schedules, budgets, resources)
  • Support business and IT project managers in applying best practices, especially in formalizing project documentation
  • Coordinate and prioritize strategic projects with various stakeholders (business, IT, external subcontractors)
  • Define and monitor performance indicators (KPIs) for project progress and performance
  • Ensure internal communication on project progress, successes, and risks
  • Bac+5 degree (business school, engineering school or university) with a specialization in project management, organization or transformation
  • 5 to 10 years of successful project management experience, including some in PMO
  • Mastery of project management methods (Agile, V-Cycle, Prince2, PMP or equivalent)
  • Good knowledge of project management tools (MS Project, JIRA, Trello, Aha!)
  • Ability to implement processes and ensure their adoption
  • Excellent organizational and structuring skills
  • Communication and transversal leadership skills
  • Analytical and synthesis skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong ability to structure, unite, and support change

In this context, and directly reporting to the project and change team manager, we are looking for a PMO Manager who will lay the foundations, implement methods, and support our teams towards operational excellence.

As PMO Manager, your role will be to:

  • Structure and animate the PMO function: methods, tools, standards.
  • Implement and monitor the project portfolio: roadmaps, reports, schedules, budgets, resources.
  • Support business and IT project managers in applying best practices: framing, testing, steering, governance. A specific effort is expected in formalizing project documentation.
  • Coordinate and prioritize strategic projects with various stakeholders: business management (technical, commercial, and management), IT department, and external subcontractors (suppliers, software publishers, etc.).
  • Define and monitor performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and performance.
  • Ensure internal communication on project progress, successes, and risks.

What we expect from you:

  • Education: Bac+5 (business school, engineering school or university) with a specialization in project management, organization or transformation.
  • Experience: 5 to 10 years of successful project management experience, including some in PMO, ideally in brokerage, management delegation or Banking/Insurance sector.
  • Technical skills:
  • Mastery of project management methods (Agile, V-Cycle, Prince2, PMP or equivalent).
  • Good knowledge of project management tools (MS Project, JIRA, Trello, Aha!…).
