Job Description

The WAS (Wealth Analytical Services) Actuarial team supports UK Occupational Pension Schemes with actuarial & financial management services. This Analyst position involves performing actuarial calculations like valuation of DB Schemes and individual member calculations. The role offers in-house training on UK Employee Benefits, opportunities to improve processes, guidance on legislative changes, and support for professional exams, fostering a healthy work-life balance.
Must have:
  • Delivery Management of multiple assignments / projects
  • Maintain high quality and work within stipulated / agreed timelines
  • Follow organisational guidelines / processes
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions for improvements to process templates
  • Personal Development with active participation in team meetings
  • Training and sharing of knowledge with colleagues
  • Make steady progress with appropriate professional examinations
  • Graduation in any stream
  • Member of the Actuarial profession (enrolled to complete actuarial studies at least)
  • Successfully cleared at least 1 actuarial paper and/or relevant degree in Actuarial Science
  • Basic understanding of pension benefits and ability to differentiate between DB and DC schemes
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with ability to translate data into meaningful insights
  • Ability to question the objective of an exercise and prod away diligently/incrementally whenever ideas occur
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptive to organisational culture and business environment
  • Good Team Player
Good to have:
  • Masters in Statistics / Mathematics / Actuarial science
  • Prior experience in team training / management
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS-Excel
  • Knowledge of other forms of employee benefits

The WAS (Wealth Analytical Services) Actuarial team supports Actuaries and Consultants of UK Occupational Pension Schemes with a broad range of actuarial & financial management services like Funding Valuation, Accounting (FRS102/IAS19R), Actuarial reports, Individual member calculations, de-risking projects, etc. We have a client base of 450+ clients, providing more than 50k+ hours of deliverables annually.

What you need to have:

  • Graduation in any stream. Should be a member of the Actuarial profession (enrolled to complete actuarial studies at least)
  • Should have successfully cleared at least 1 actuarial paper and/or relevant degree in Actuarial Science
  • Should have a basic understanding of pension benefits and should be able to differentiate between DB and DC schemes (knowledge of UK employee benefits would be an added advantage)
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with ability to translate data into meaningful insights
