Job Summary
The Pre-Visualisation Artist collaborates with the Previs Supervisor and Lead to design and create shots and sequences, ensuring the director's vision is met through dynamic camera movement, composition, staging, lighting, and editing. Responsibilities include creating Previs shots from scripts or pitches, animating all shot aspects, performing simple modeling/rigging/texturing, and producing Techvis for real-world and onset shooting.
Must Have
- Create Previs shots based on scripts, boards, or verbal pitches.
- Edit Previs shots into coherent sequences.
- Apply knowledge of cinematic lens choices, framing, staging, and camera language.
- Animate camera, characters, lighting, and FX to enhance storypoints.
- Carry out simple modeling, rigging, and texturing tasks.
- Produce Techvis for real-world and onset shooting, incorporating practical set dimensions, camera lens data, and virtual production requirements.
- Experience in camera/character/creature/vehicle animation in Maya.
- Knowledge of using and editing Mocap data.
- Understanding of different styles of cinematography, film terminology, and cinematic shot composition and lighting.
- Basic competency in modeling, texturing, lighting, compositing, and rendering.
- Proficiency in Maya for animation, camera, and scene assembly.
- Proficiency with modeling and texturing tools within common 3D packages (e.g., Maya, Substance Painter, ZBrush, or similar).
Good to Have
- Familiarity with Nuke
- Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve
- Familiarity with Houdini
- Working knowledge of Linux
- Working knowledge of Google Suites

Position Summary
Previs Artists collaborates closely with the Previs Supervisor and Previs Lead to design and create shots and sequences ensuring the Director and Clients vision are met through dynamic camera movement, composition, staging, lighting and editing.
What You’ll Do:
- Create Previs shots based off scripts, boards or verbal pitches and edit these into coherent sequences, applying their knowledge of cinematic lens choices, framing, staging and camera language to visualise the clients vision.
- Animate all aspects of the shot from the camera to the characters, using lighting and FX to enhance storypoints.
- Be able to carry out simple modelling/rigging/texturing tasks when required.
- Produce Techvis to support realworld and onset shooting of the completed Previs incorporating practical set dimensions, camera lens data, and virtual production requirements
- ability to meet deadlines and maintain a consistent level of productivity while producing high quality work within varying timelines.
- Communicating and collaborating across departments
- Demonstrate flexibility with iterative process
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in camera/character/creature/vehicle animation in Maya and knowledge of using and editing Mocap data
- Understanding of different styles of cinematography, knowledge of film terminology, lenses and a good eye for cinematic shot composition and lighting
- Basic competency in modeling, texturing, lighting, compositing and rendering
- Highly motivated and proactive
- Good communicator able to take feedback/direction and interpret them effectively over multiple versions
- Organised and creative problem solver with a good attention to detail.
- Proficient in Maya for animation, camera, and scene assembly
- Proficient with modeling and texturing tools within common 3d packages (e.g.Maya,Substance Painter, ZBrush, or similar)
- Familiarity with Nuke, DaVinici Resolve, Houdini
- Working knowledge of Linux and Google Suites

This role is Hybrid, which means the employee will be required to work a minimum of 2 days on-site per week at a Company designated location, and occasionally from home.
