Job Summary
Industrial Light & Magic in London is seeking up to three Technology Interns for a year-long work placement during their Computer Science degree. This role offers an opportunity to work in the motion picture VFX/CGI industry, supporting London-based employees with their systems. Responsibilities include managing open cases, setting up user accounts, installing and configuring hardware, operating systems, and VFX software, and assisting IT staff.
Must Have
- Working through open cases from problem to completion
- Set up new users' accounts and profiles
- Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems and applications
- Install and configure VFX software such as Maya, Nuke and Photoshop
- Support existing IT staff and colleagues in day to day operations
- Understanding of computer hardware and software (e.g. Linux, MacOS, Windows)
- Familiarity with web browsers
- Good organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Enthusiastic and motivated self-starter with a ‘can do’ approach
- Ability to manage time effectively and continually re-prioritise tasks
- Team player who will strive to maximise team/department harmony
- Self-learning and proactive

The roles are suited to individuals who want to pursue a career in IT Support/Infrastructure/Systems or similar once their degree is completed.
The Technology Support Intern will be responsible for supporting London based employees through either face to face or remotely to help with their systems.
Anticipated contract start date: from June 2026
What You’ll Do:
- Working through a number of open cases at any one time from problem to completion
- Set up new users' accounts and profiles
- Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems and applications including VFX software such as Maya, Nuke and Photoshop
- Support existing IT staff and colleagues in day to day operations
- Some lifting is required
What We’re Looking For:
- Understanding of computer hardware and software, e.g. Linux, MacOS, Windows
- Familiarity with web browsers
- Knowledge of CG software and tools an advantage, but not essential
- Good organisational skills & excellent communication skills
