Job Description

The Principal Engineer for 3D Imaging & Algorithms will lead complex projects independently and across multiple teams, demonstrating strong initiative and problem-solving skills. They will exhibit principal-level engineering and architecture expertise, establishing best practices and making practical tech decisions. The role involves driving a results-oriented approach, unblocking teams, and maintaining a "get things done" mentality. The engineer will take ownership of identifying and solving high-value problems, proactively improving team and organizational outcomes. Collaboration is key, earning respect from engineers to business stakeholders through strong communication and hands-on involvement. Mentoring engineers at all levels while staying current with industry trends and continuously sharing knowledge across teams will also be required.
Good To Have:
  • Experience designing & developing medical devices
  • 10+ years of software development experience
  • Experience with high-performance software design
  • Familiarity with modern SW technologies (C++, 3D rendering)
Must Have:
  • Bachelor's/Master's in CS, Software Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 6-8 years of software development experience

  • Mentoring engineers at all levels while staying current with industry trends and continuously sharing knowledge across teams.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent.

Work Experience

Minimum 8 years of experience with Bachelor's OR Minimum 6 years of experience with Master's in areas such as Software Development, Software Design and Architecture, Testing and Quality Assurance or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Track record in designing & developing medical devices / products as a product (requirements) owner holding a system thinking mindset.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development, and at least 3 years of experience as an architect, technical product owner or staff engineer in an agile development environment with a passion for software and keeping up to date with software technology and related areas.
  • Experience working in and cooperating with high-performing teams, ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, being able to translate a software product roadmap into clear architectural designs and implementation. You can bring your point across to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You have proven experience with high performance software design and development, design patterns, SOLID principles, TDD, Clean architecture and writing efficient code.
  • Respected for being hands-on and fully up to speed with modern SW technologies (e.g. C++ 20, 3D rendering with DirectX/OpenGL and computational geometry), configuration management and deployment systems – GitHub, package management, orchestration tools, Docker, cloud computing.
