Product Purchaser

TVH purchases parts worldwide for forklifts, aerial work platforms, telehandlers, scissor lifts, agricultural tractors, mini excavators, golf carts, … in short, almost all types of industrial vehicles, regardless of brand, type, or year of manufacture. The unrivalled expertise of our purchasing department has resulted in a database of more than 44,000,000 item numbers, with over 930,000 different references kept in stock.
After a thorough training period, you will become, as a Product Purchaser, the specialist for product categories within engine parts, across the different equipment markets.
Together with your team, you will also act as a backup for mast bearings and rolling equipment for mini excavators.
Your Role and Responsibilities

- Gain insight into the range of parts and the market in order to develop a supplier portfolio for your specific product group.
- Actively search for alternative suppliers for both new and existing products through market research, internal and external contacts, trade fairs, and TVH’s existing supplier network.
- Build strong partner relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts regarding technical specifications, quality, payment terms, and delivery times.
- Handle product-related questions from the sales department.
- Take responsibility for a part of the product groups within your team.
- Ensure product quality, availability, and timely delivery to the customer, and take a problem-solving approach when these are at risk.
- Assess supplier quality, evaluate returns and customer complaints, and take corrective action with suppliers to achieve constructive solutions.
- Work closely with marketing, category management, pricing & sales, as well as with your assigned suppliers.
Your Profile
------------
- CIPS qualification would be a distinct advantage but is not an essential criteria. Has an interest in technical products. You don’t need to be a specialist—internal training and the extensive knowledge of your colleagues will help you acquire all the necessary product expertise.
- Possess strong commercial flair and excellent communication skills.
- Be analytical, able to work autonomously, project-based, and in a structured way.
- Enjoy taking initiative and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Have an excellent command of English.
