Job Summary

Chord Design Studio is a nationally recognized architecture and interiors firm specializing in hospitality, residential, and mixed-use environments. They are seeking a detail-driven Project Architect with 8+ years of experience to lead technical aspects from early concept through construction. This role involves translating design intent into coordinated, buildable solutions, ensuring technical excellence, and anticipating issues. The ideal candidate thrives on precision, clear communication, and predictable delivery, contributing to exceptional design outcomes.

Must Have

  • Develop clear, coordinated and technically sound drawings that reinforce design integrity
  • Translate design direction into functional, code-compliant, buildable solutions
  • Review and integrate feedback from Project Managers and Design Managers
  • Coordinate with structural, MEP, civil, and specialty consultants
  • Conduct internal QA/QC for accuracy, consistency, and rigorous documentation standards
  • Support permit packages, construction documentation, RFIs, submittals, and ASIs
  • Participate in site visits and assist with constructability issue resolution
  • Provide technical mentorship to designers and Job Captains
  • Maintain alignment with Project Managers and Senior PMs on priorities and deliverables

How you’ll spend your day:

  • Developing clear, coordinated and technically sound drawings that reinforce design integrity

  • Conducting internal QA/QC for accuracy, consistency, and rigorous documentation standards
  • Supporting permit packages, construction documentation, RFIs, submittals, and ASIs
  • Participating in site visits and assisting with constructability issue resolution
  • Providing technical mentorship to designers and Job Captains

Qualifications

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture – licensure preferred; active pursuit encouraged
  • 8+ years of architectural experience and a demonstrated passion for technical precision
  • Strong understanding of building systems, constructability, detailing, and codes
  • Advanced Revit proficiency — you know how to organize complex models with clarity
  • Proven experience coordinating across multiple consultants and disciplines
  • Clear communication style and disciplined documentation habits
  • Ability to translate design intent into consistent, coordinated, buildable technical solutions
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to risk identification and issue resolution
