Job Description

The Salesforce Release Engineer at Iron Mountain is a subject matter expert in metadata migrations between Salesforce platforms. This role involves creating and implementing processes to enhance sales, marketing, and service effectiveness. Responsibilities include executing deployments for Salesforce and related cloud services, ensuring smooth and efficient functionality delivery. The engineer will be part of a dynamic team, contributing to enterprise technology solutions across the deployment lifecycle, collaborating with business and development teams.
Must have:
  • Good understanding of Overall SFDC Architecture & landscape.
  • Good knowledge of SFDC configuration, customization, and Reporting.
  • Communicate with Project Teams, Project Managers, and Release Managers to coordinate deployment.
  • Perform/Manage releases according to organization standards and timelines.
  • Identify risks during code conflict merging and ensure quality code deployment.
  • Know how to package and deploy metadata components.
  • Knowledge of release branching strategies, code merging, version controlling, and conflict resolution.
  • Hands-on experience with Flosum.
  • Proficient in SOQL, HTML, XML, Google suite (Sheet, Word).
  • Assist release management with code versioning and automated build/deployments using CICD tools.
  • SFDC Administrator 201/Flosum certified.
  • Configuring/Building snapshots and branches functionalities in Flosum.
  • Experience using or administering the Salesforce product suite.
  • Experience in building change control documents.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to manage deployments in multiple sandboxes and Production environments.
  • Understanding of source control management systems (Gitlab/GitHub) and code branching/merging strategies.
Good to have:
  • Hands-on experience working with DevOps/CICD tools (Flosum, Copado, ANT, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Selenium).
  • Hands-on experience with other similar CRM systems.
  • Salesforce Admin Certification and Flosum/Copado Certification.

Position Summary:

The Salesforce Release Engineer serves as a subject matter expert on metadata migrations between Salesforce platforms. The candidate will create and implement new or enhanced processes to improve sales, marketing, and service effectiveness and efficiency within Iron Mountain. The Salesforce Release Engineer will be responsible for executing deployments for Salesforce and related cloud services. This includes ensuring that all functionality is delivered smoothly and efficiently with other subject matter experts internal and external to Iron Mountain. The Salesforce Release Engineer will be part of a dynamic team responsible for delivering enterprise technology solutions in a timely manner. This role will span all aspects of the Deployment lifecycle and includes working alongside our business and development teams in a highly collaborative environment where every individual’s input is valued.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must have a good understanding of Overall SFDC Architecture & landscape.
  • Must have good knowledge of SFDC configuration, customization, and Reporting.
  • Communicate with Project Teams, Project Managers, and Release Managers to understand the demand and manage and coordinate the deployment process.
  • Should be able to Perform/Manage releases according to the organization standards and adhere to timelines. Ensure availability to release manager and communicate deployment status as necessary.
  • Should be able to Identify risks during code conflict merging and make sure to deploy quality code in staging environments and should conduct release reviews.
  • Must know how to package and deploy metadata components, have knowledge on release branching strategies, code merging, version controlling and should have worked on conflict resolution strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with Flosum is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be proficient in SOQL, HTML, XML, Google suite (Sheet, Word).
  • Assist release management with code versioning and perform automated build and deployments using CICD tools.
  • Good communication skills. Must be able to manage interactions with various stakeholders across multiple countries.
  • Should be a SFDC Administrator 201/Flosum certified.

Number of Years of Work Experience:

5+ years of overall experience in IT solutions development, 3+ years in Salesforce development, 2+ years in Release management.

Required Skills:

  • Configuring/Building snapshots, branches functionalities in Flosum both native and custom.
  • Experience using or administering the Salesforce product suite, including Sales, Service, Communities, Marketing, eCommerce, CPQ and Billing.
  • Experience in building change control documents supporting the user stories.
  • Proven ability leveraging analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to manage deployments in multiple sandboxes and Production environments
  • Ability to adjust to rapid change in priorities, timelines, and constraints.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks, use initiative and be self-directed to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working with remote teams and vendor resources spread across multiple time zones.
  • Understanding of source control management systems (i.e., Gitlab/GitHub) and effective code branching/merging strategies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Hands-on experience working with DevOps/CICD tools (Flosum, Copado, ANT, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Selenium).
  • Hands-on experience with other similar CRM systems.
  • Salesforce Admin Certification and Flosum/Copado Certification.

Education:

BS/BA degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Information Security or related field or equivalent experience.
