Job Summary
The Compensation Planner at Flexera is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing sales compensation plans aligned with organizational goals. This role involves ensuring accurate quota-setting, incentive calculations, and compliance with governance policies. Key responsibilities include developing compensation plans, supporting quota processes, validating incentive calculations, analyzing sales performance data, preparing reports, ensuring audit adherence, and collaborating with Revenue Operations, Finance, and HR to optimize compensation strategies and provide actionable insights.
Must Have
- Develop and maintain sales compensation plans that motivate performance and align with business objectives
- Translate high-level compensation frameworks into actionable quota files and compensation letters for sales teams
- Support annual and quarterly quota-setting processes
- Validate incentive calculations and oversee commission deliverables for timely and accurate payouts
- Analyze sales performance data to assess plan effectiveness
- Prepare reports and dashboards for leadership on attainment, payouts, and trends
- Ensure adherence to audit requirements and governance policies
- Maintain accurate documentation of plan rules, eligibility criteria, and payout structures
- Partner with Revenue Operations, Finance, and HR to ensure smooth execution of compensation processes
- Communicate plan details and provide training to stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
- 4–6 years of experience in sales compensation planning or sales operations
- Advanced analytical skills with expertise in Excel and financial modeling
- Proficiency in Salesforce and incentive management platforms (e.g., Xactly)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
Good to Have
- Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
- Proactive mindset with a sense of urgency and adaptability

Role Overview
The Compensation Planner is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing sales compensation plans that align with organizational goals. Key Responsibilities
- Plan Design & Implementation
- Develop and maintain sales compensation plans that motivate performance and align with business objectives.
- Translate high-level compensation frameworks into actionable quota files and compensation letters for sales teams.
- Quota & Incentive Management
- Support annual and quarterly quota-setting processes.
- Validate incentive calculations and oversee commission deliverables for timely and accurate payouts.

- Analyze sales performance data to assess plan effectiveness.
