The E.W. Scripps Company is hiring a Sales Support Assistant III at KMTV in Omaha. This role involves supporting the sales department with daily activities, including assisting the sales team with pre-sales events, client appointments, and order entry, as well as facilitating and processing sales presentations. The assistant will communicate with advertising agencies and clients regarding make-goods, preemptions, under-delivery, and daily contact, including sending station information. Responsibilities also include generating and analyzing sales reports, identifying and correcting billing errors, attending sales training, arranging advertising materials, providing customer assistance, and handling general clerical functions like filing and answering phones. The role requires cross-training in sales and traffic software applications and other duties as assigned.

Job Details

The E.W. Scripps Company is hiring for a Sales Support Assistant III at KMTV in Omaha. They will be responsible for supporting the sales department in day-to-day activities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Assist Sales team with pre-sales events, client appointments and order entry. Facilitate & process sales presentations.

  • Communicate with advertising agencies and clients for make goods, preemptions, under delivery and day-to-day contact. Including sending station information to clients and national representatives.

  • Generate and analyze sales reports including rating delivery data by week and adjusting advertising schedules. Complete online postings.

  • Identify and correct any billing errors or issues prior to end of month.

  • Correctly input client billing adjustments within the same month as dispute identified.

  • Attend sales training and planning meetings.

  • Arranges and distributes various advertising materials and sales reports to the proper areas in a timely manner.

  • Provide exemplary customer assistance.

  • Assist AE’s and clients with commercial time, arrange tape pick-ups, and make goods and changes.

  • Send location information to clients and national reps.

  • Produce sales pieces in coordination with National Rep. Firm and Research Director.

  • Assist with inventory control and updating and weekly rate card.

  • Paid programming liaison with advertisers, where necessary.

  • Cross-train in all sales and traffic software applications as well as sales support positions.

  • Handles the daily general clerical functions such as filing, answering phones, creating correspondence and calculating rates to quote to customers.

  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Generally 5+ years of experience in a related field preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret sales demographics information and creative layouts

  • Must have the ability to generate reports, business correspondence, and presentations

  • Strong communication skills and the capability to effectively respond to questions from managers, colleagues and customers

  • Must have the ability to calculate figures related to the advertising rate packages

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Must have the ability to learn new software programs such as ad order entry and customer relations management software

  • Must have good organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines

  • Must have strong attention to detail

  • Communicate and work as a team player both internally and externally
